Discuss Market Comments 12/15

Still rising, but so is bullishness- Once again, stocks rallied out of the gate yesterday, after a couple of positive economic reports were released. But by the time the Fed policy statement was released at 2:15 PM ET, which was virtually unchanged from the prior statement, we saw some profit taking kick in. Hey Tom, I really appreciate the work that you put into this site. I have benefitted much in the little time I've been here, so thanks.

In trying to follow some of the advice that I was given from a few of the members, earlier this week I moved 60% of my funds from the I fund to the 2040, leaving 20% in each the S and C.

Now that I've moved out of the I, it looks like that fund is doing slightly better than the others, day-to-day. I realize that we are not day trading here, so help me understand what signs you look for when deciding when to buy/sell.

I want to develop a long-term strategy, but I'm not quite there yet.

Thanks!

Adrian

Hi Adrian -

I basically look at the charts and indicators that I post in my market commentary each day, then take the input from the sentiment survey system and our premium service recommendations. Unfortunately combining many strategies and inputs can be counter-productive.

I would suggest coming to a decision on what type of investor you want to be, whether a long term buy and holder, a market timer, or somewhere in between. The answer to that question will get you closer to the strategy that will work best for you, or at least make you comfortable.

Good luck!
