I googled and then searched these forum first before asking this as to avoid repeating questions ut I couldn't find the answer.

When do the daily share prices post on tsp.gov and here at tsptalk.com
Thanks!

The TSP usually announces the TSP share price around 7 pm. eastern time. It's not ALWAYS prompt, but generally is about then. The first place that usually gets updated is the audio recording on the phone in line. Then, within ten minutes or so on most days, that's followed by the TSP posting the actual share prices on the TSP website.

Tom comes in and posts the updated prices sometime after that- depending on what he's doing that day. The Auto-Tracker usually gets updated somewhat later in the evening when Tom gets a chance.

The TSP updates the actual individual account balance information in the overnight session. I've seen it updated as early as 1:20 a.m. but most night's it's actually after 6 a.m. the following morning before the revised numbers are available.

That's about the norms these days. No promises by anyone, but that's what you are likely to see.

And welcome aboard.

They seem to be updated on www.tsp.gov between 7:15 and 7:30 PM ET. I usually have them updated within 15 miuntes of that.

Of course today the TSP is late in posting the prices and I have to go to a basketball game right now, so tonight's prices will be posted late. That means the AutoTrackler won't be updated until later tonight.

I'll check one more time before I leave. :)

There are a few of us around the office talking abut TSP and someone brought up a good question. The question is "What method does the TSP take to sell shares? FIFO or LIFO method? I looked on the TSP site and din't find anything on it. So, I called the TSP and they told me that they use the FIFO method. First-in, First-out method. So, if you bought a fund at $10 a share and dollar cost averaged it over a period of years and then decided to sell it. Your $10 shares would be sold first.

Just wanted to share this info with everyone :)

Steve

IMHO that matters when filing taxes or when I sell individual stocks. Not so much with the TSP.
When moving TSP money, thats all it is, money, and there are no tax implications on a yearly basis.
