..I wasn't aware of the sign..But I never miss the opporntunity to verbally thank and shake the hand of every Soldier I meet.

Worth Watching.
Ah-h-h. {signs "from my heart"} Thank you, James! Wonderful reminder!

My daughter-in-law is a special ed teacher who uses ASL (American Sign Language), which is such a deeply meaningful language! And she says the sign for thank you literally means "from my heart". Love it.

And love the message of the video. My sincere gratitude for posting it.

I must have PTSD big time as I cried when I viewed that video. When the polls claim that the economy is the number one issue instead of getting our troops out of where they dont belong it beaks my heart.
I worked ER hold the other day and had 5 new patients all Iraq vets I felt for them, they were waiting for Psych beds to open up. I am voting for the one that goes to war as a last resort. And I could care less about the economy, lets get our people home.

NICE POST

Another one that is interesting.

We must not forget those among us who have a harder struggle.

A message of hope for one group of people in America that we don't think about often enough:

Ooops, the last vid failed, so here's a serious one. The kids are learning economic history in detail we never did, making lots of vids of the crash and depression, using modern technology for school projects. This one captures some of the econ that led to...you know. Hard to read some of the captions, but worth the effort-similarities to today.

-similarities to today.
History repeating itself? Funny how the emotions of greed and fear continue their cycle. If the market and economic conditions continue to deteriorate, the younger generation (20 and 30 year olds) who do like to spend, might end up being much like the folks who were my grandparents' age who went through the depression - frugal and very money consious. As the video pointed out, my granparents probably didn't start out being frugal either. The cycle continues?

That's why I really admire the 20 something year olds who frequest TSP Talk. They some how got the message to save rather than spend every dime they make.

I was unaware of the commodity/industry boom-bust cycles, price increases relative to wages leading to debt for farmers trying to increase production and earn enough to support families, debt defaults leading to bank busts and govt proposed purchase of ag production getting vetoed by CONgress-all in the 20's. My farming-background family has depression-era stories, fortunately not as grim as some families' stories, but bad enough. No greed or get-rich quick motives involved.

By the way, I apologize for the harsh language in that video. I didn't make it, but apparently whoever made it is pretty upset at people in debt.
