Anyone eligible to go in next three years? Congress is proposing to reduce our annuity by calculating years of service and highest five year average rather than the currently highest 3 year average salary which will reduce our annuity.

I have been complaining to our congress person that they are chipping away at our benefits, our healthcare payment is definitely going to go up in next few years considerably.

Congress wont even touch on cutting medicare benefits which will eventually cripple our country.

That's the problem - your retirement money is not your money but rather an obligation to you and it can easily be changed.

I thought about 'The Ultimate WAR' last night :o

China and India will team up and invade the USA in the name of destroying the Parasites.... because we have consistently proven we are both to dumb to deal with it and too powerless to do anything.

Soo they 'in the name of good and decency' --- come over to make our country right.

well - got a patient -- sorry gotta run

Anyway --- they will take whatever they can from whoever they can.... while given out more and more to the 'undeserving'

Steady, I'll join you in Red Dawn.

Speaking of which ....

uhh I haven't said anything to Blue about this yet :embarrest::sick:

BUT -- I've been looking into buying a cross-bow

I've never really hunted before and if things work out the area we're moving to has all kinds of wilderness. Soo I'm get more and more excited about the prospects of hunting with a cross-bow.

Would you consider joining me for Elk or Bear season??

This is one of those moments for reflection by anyone who votes for Tea Partiers and Conservative Republicans. Those are the guys who are going to bleed us out, not the Dems love em or hate em. The saddest part of it for the country overall is that these same conservative crusaders will as always pander to the wall street bankers and special interests that caused this recession in the first place. If these Congressmen are so concerned about saving money where are the early retirement offers like Clinton had in 1994?

RETIRE NOW!
Cause there is MUCH FAT to cut, and if you work for the Gov't you know it needs some trimming, with a CHAIN SAW! I don't like them concentrating on cutting benefits the waste is worse in other areas.

You are planning on hunting BEAR with a crossbow?

That really will just make him angry first, you know......

Note: Hunting large game that has sharp claws, with a cross-bow CAN be
successful. However, you better hope that you don't miss, and only wound him, cause that wouldn't be pretty....

Well Jim,
I've never been a 'hunter' before -- so it's all new to me.

I somehow feel it's more acceptable to use the crossbow - and for me personally that's the most important thing. If I'm going to kill anything it has to be in a manner that gives the Bear or Elk more even grounding with me. That's the only way I'd feel worthy of having it.

I picture an Elk as identical to a Moose -- and would use everything. If I got a Bear I would also use everything -- and probably even keep the fur.

The crossbow today is probably more powerful than you realize and I would most certainly use one of the better. All this is contingent on Blue being good with it and not only in 'trusting me' to stay safe but also to accept what I bring home.

If I'm going to live where this wildlife is abundant -- I believe it would all the more deepen my unity - my spirit - to the land.

So it's more than just killing an elk or bear.

One of my bucket list is to take an elk with either my bow or muzzleloader.
If the move happens and you do get the crossbow, I've got a great jerky receipe that I use for vension that you can have.:)

I tell ya what -- if the move happens -- I'll let you enter the contest to get an elk. I'm moving to where they are plentiful BUT only 50 get picked to get one.

I would accept the muzzleloader -- because it's not like this megapower rifle that even a kid couldn't miss. The bow would be even better and if I won the contest -- I'd let you join me.

I'd love to get the receipe -- I love jerky and that's an excellent way to let me stretch it out indefinately...

Thanks man !!!!

One of my life goals is to go elk hunting with a bow. I unfortunately gave mine to a good friend when joining the military, and ended up in Washington.....plently of everything around here. Bad timing for this season returning from Iraq n all. Maybe next season. Steady, look into state laws first before you buy. I know in Florida, crossbows were only legal on private property, or if you had a handicap letter from your doctor, then apply for a handicap permit through the state if hunting on a management area....National Forests may have their own restrictions.
As far as red dawn....lol.....I just sold my Sig Saur .40 pistol to supliment the cost of an M4 before somone signs another ban saying I cant.

Nate, I can safely say that the state is in charge of hunting regulations even on national forest lands. if the state says legal, you're legal and good to go. :)

That sounds like an excellent life goal!!

I went to PA and got tons of stuff -- including anything to do with hunting. Crossbows are good as long as you've got better than 45 pounds of pull and are using the right arrows.

I'd be getting 185 pull pounds.

When in doubt -- ask Alevie.

The national forest lands may have certain requirements that differ from other places -- but the State is most certainly in charge.

Well good night all. I came back to check on the recipe :(

Guess I need to move first :p

If you haven't noticed the organization of the website.....this part is for member's account talk only......not other types of threads like retirement.....that goes elsewhere.
