Are there any disadvantages or reasons not to move uniformed TSP funds to a civilian TSP fund? There are no funds invested during combat.

I would first reply with, from the information you provided, I'm gathering that you are still in the military? If so, then this applies: You cannot merge until after you have seperated from one or the other. "after separating from either Federal civilian employment or from the uniformed services." Now, if you're asking if after you've separated, then in my opinion, yes, its a good idea to merge them.

From TSP website: Use TSP-65, Request to Combine Civilian and Uniformed Services TSP Accounts (4/2012)

If you have both a civilian and a uniformed services TSP account, use this form to combine your accounts after separating from either Federal civilian employment or from the uniformed services.

To clear things up, I am retired military and currently a GS employee.
Since I a a reservist, I sometimes used my Military as a backup to make sure I get the full amount in TSP for the year. But if you aren't putting money in it anymore, I would combine them for accounting ease.
