[$$] China stocks jump as presidential call signals thaw in trade war
China’s CSI 300, composed of Shanghai and Shenzhen stocks, rallied 2.3 per cent, heading for its biggest one-day gain in over a week. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng China Enterprises index of major Chinese companies climbed 2.1 per cent. The Hang Seng index jumped as much as 2.7 per cent at the start of trading in Hong Kong before easing to be 2.2 per cent higher.
