Thought to post this thread as a MB resource to keep abreast of this increasingly important subject as it effects the market and in other news (kind of like nuutt's Oil Slick Stuff.) So feel free to post news and links all you carbon-based lifeforms. I will also try to keep the thread updated with the latest news and related reports. Hopefully this will give all of us here a better understand of exactly what is going on in this area...like or not looks like "carbon futures" are with us for good...or bad.

Good articles, thanks nuutt. Its clear that cap & Tax is hitting flyover country harder than the East and Left coasts. Carbon credits are the fiat currency of the 21st century. The biggest scam ever pulled off in broad daylight. Who said they taxman could tax our air? We all laughed at that song by the Beatles but its happening before our eyes today.

You can say that again.
You can say that again. :suspicious:

Who pays for all the carbon and other smoke and ash from the Icelandic volcano? We humans are no match for mother nature - our contribution is inconsequential!!

SSsshh! Dont give them any ideas...:notrust:

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if such natural disasters are going to be figured in to their calculations somehow - of course while there still is a working, producing middle-class that is who will foot the bill.

Personally, (b/c of life experiences) I distrust just about everything and everybody, at least I am suspicious of most anything that governments are supporting and enabling. :notrust:

Others on the MB may however be more subjective than I...What are your thoughts on the "carbon market"?

Is paying for carbon credits (in the form of higher energy costs) the healthy sign of responsible persons all over the world pulling together to create a workable solution to a real threat of "climate change"? Is this all innocent enough and no cause for alarm?

Or do you feel this is a sham of global proportions by international mobsters knocking on our collective doors demanding "protection money" with a new twist? Or even something more sinister than meets the eye?

I asked that in the volcano thread:D....It really comes down to WHO measures it. Will extenuating circumstances like natural disasters be considered?
