Some posts just scream for replies - I cant refuse!! :D

Fab - Now that there's 3 of you, you've turned into a post-aholic!

Bquat - Being retired at 58 means you've done things right financially. I'm hoping to be there too and retire at my MRA in.....1972 days from now per this little clock on my desk....

I had that same clock. My supervisor hated it. I had plus 365 to it to make him think I was staying longer. I got a new supervisor so the clock was right and I stayed and extra year. I maxed my apraisal that year and he had a fit. He tried to change it in the NSPS review meeting and couldn't.
I was going to stay longer but wife had a triggering heart problem and my mother in law had a mild stroke in a two month time frame. Life is too short and decided to hang it up to help with all the appointments. Well I'm out and they're both good now and I'm having a great time.:)

By the way, my mother in law lives with me now and I'm her favorite. shh don't tell my brother in law that mom likes me best.;)

1300 S&P sure is hard to break. Just broke it and bounced back down past 1295 the latest support level. Is this profit takers or the market trying to catch the bears with a bear trap.:suspicious: I'll watch a few and look for the bulls to fight and buy back. Ok Birch come visit and see if you can turn it again.:)My brother wants to meet me for breakfast (brunch) so I may have to go in about 20 min so do your stuff.

I'm afraid we may be in for a temporary wipe out. Blame it on the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt creating fear. It's time to eat some pain but it won't last long. As usual I'm holding long and strong.

Ok day traiders took their profits, short sellers got theirs too and a lot followed and sold. Now the day traiders buy back in eairly and everyone follows and day traiders make money on the way back up and end up where they were but have take home money. Come on buyers at a 60 degree buy slope we can be back at 0 by market close.:)

I'm a glass half full guy.:D

Well S&P 1282 was a peak in Aug 2008. Will it hold from here or do we follow the direction of the Nasdaq and the Russel and have a larger correction? I'm guessing a test to 1275, 1270 (best guess) or 1257 before we bounce. Some say a test of the 1300 could happen before the dip. I'm hoping the leaders bounce now to bring up my 10% in each CSI before the end of the month and new IFT's.:) Good luck guys on Monday.

I posted this on the 23rd of Jan and the ones predicting 1300 first and maybe drop were correct. Hope my above support levels hold and bounce. :worried:

This is one of the guys I been listening to. He had a swing traiders type of outlook but got his fingers burnt a little. He was calling for a correction several weeks back but the effect of Quantative Easing kept the markets bullish. So he and his listeners missed most of this rally. So he went from a free nightly to a weekly. He say's when a market is still in a bullish trend and a heads up when to sell.
He say's that we are still in a bullish trend.

I think the Bulishness of this market had a lot of people confused. They'll all be saying they called this dip even though they been calling it for weeks. Poolman has videos of the others I look at. I make a pot of coffee and drink it while watching. Well I fill my cup between videos.

Well I hope my support levels hold and we bounce on Monday.:D

We need a very nice blow off top before any serious consolidation starts and we are not there yet in my opinion. There really should not be any further corrections of 10% or better during the remainder of the bull market - hypothetically anyway. I'm still holding out for a 1995 market move that will push us up another 60% from here - that's better than 17,000 on the Dow by the end of the year - how's that for prescience. Long live QE2 and the next $600B leading to an equity bubble. If I sound overly bullish it's because of the unlimited dollars that will rush into our markets from the mom and pops in the bond markets and now from Arab countries seeking safety. I have $80K on the line for Monday so I hope we rally hard up past SPX 1300.

Birch, do you think that little jump in unemployment is caused buy the bad weather in the east and northeast or the Christmas hires being dropped after the holidays? I was hoping it was more people looking again since there has been some hiring.:)

There is hiring going on and let's hold out for a good NFP number on Friday - again that could be a catalyst for the market knowing the economy is improving. I just can't be bearish during a moment like this.

I can't see you bearish at any moment.:D

Ya, even at the 2008 bottoms I was bullish enough to be dumping my life savings into the cold dark well. Now the rewards are coming due. During that time I made 432 individual stock purchases into my base. Starting in June '09 I made 948 individual stock purchases through July '10 with my margin account chasing the bull. So far I've made another 312 individual stock purchases and plan to keep buying until the margin folks tell me to go find happiness with my own money. I paid the price of holding long during 2008 and now the rewards are piling up boosting my income for my remaining years in retirement. I never clucked to the G fund and kept on DCAing all the damn way down in my TSP buying some really sweet C fund shares and even extended my retirement date to continue DCAing on the way back up. Now that is the epitome of greed. Greed is good.

I still hope for the market to bounce monday. I will hold where I am and look for a bounce 1270 S&P and 1257 is my scarry point if it doesn't hold.

You know what? I'm reguessing this right now with seeing some of the videos on Poolman's thred. If I don't see 1282 S&P and hold early tomorrow, I will think of it as just a dead cat bounce. I will use my G option and maybe recover some loss or save myself from a bigger loss with an established lower high and lower low. If the dip is being bought I want to see it before 12 eastern.

Also on the first, I will be giving IT a try and become silent on my IFT's.
Good luck Birch, I love your strength, bullish long term outlook but as you can see I am too wound up :worried: to be buy and hold. Plus IT is willing to do the work :) and I'm more of a swing trader needing to be saved at the tops and kept out of the valleys. Too bad we can't put stops or do shorts in tsp.

I still might come up with what levels are resistance and what are support. It's just some thing I like to do on the S&P ( C Fund ) but it might or might not agree with what I am currently doing in the market. So let me know if they are a mute point since I won't be using them as anything except training.

Bill

S&P resistance points going up are 1290, 1295,1300, and 1330ish.
Support going down 1282, 1275, 1270 strong and if 1257 is broke:worried:.

Today looked ok to me. It broke 1282 today which now is support.

Seemed to me better than a dead cat bounce when it held today.:)

How do I make this my avitar?
want to look like I treading over zero.
