bmneveu's Account Talk

Today was the 11th Back-and-Forth day in a row on the S&P. If we continue the trend, we'll head back up tomorrow.

12th today in the pattern. Tomorrow should be down but I wouldn't be surprised if the trend finally breaks and we have 2 up days in a row. Either way, I'm guessing Monday will be up.

Sold shorts near the close for a 5% gain to get me back to just over break even. Market will probably tank now. I'm just glad to be out of that position finally. Back to bullish thoughts? Still 50I 50F though so we'll see how that turns out. Hopefully North Korea doesn't destroy my I Fund holdings...

TZA futures are looking beautiful...wish we would have held lol.

I thought about shorting again yesterday because of the back-and-forth pattern we've been experiencing, but was reluctant to jump in short again so fast after being in so long. looks like my hesitation cost me about 4% so far

Loss of a chance at a gain, but at least it isn't a real loss. :)

Betting Monday is up. Took 1/3 of a position in XIV with JTrader about 15 minutes ago. Already up almost 1%.

Kind of a snoozer so far huh? XIV is up a bit though. Can't argue with that.

Man we got some steady upward action pretty much the minute after I said today was boring. Ended up selling XIV afterhours @ 24.14 for about 4%. Too bad I didn't take a larger position. But that leaves me plenty of buying power for tomorrow if I need it.

New post from this weekend up @ the blog. Talks about the power of DRIP in the long haul. Specifically with a high yielding REIT index like "REM".

Wow, posting is so much more difficult when my dog wants to bite my hands. She's still learning the "Go See Mommy!" command.

Ordering a new air intake today. My first under-the-hood car modification. Should be a fun learning experience. Lookin at a possible addition of 3-6hp, 1-3mpg, better throttle response time and a cleaner look! Probably "try" to put it in this weekend if it ships in time.

Get ready for the constant noise of intake "howl".... man is that irritating after the first week.

My '04 Pontiac Grand Prix GT was falling apart so I traded in for a 2012 Lancer ES. Bought it New off the lot 2 months ago sitting next to all the new '13s so I got a huge discount. It gets great gas milage but man there's pretty much no power. So I'm looking at ways to add a bit. After the intake I might change the crank pulley. Starting with the easier mods cuz I'm a newbie at this stuff.

I was hoping it would be more of a "growl" that I would enjoy. And is it only when I hit the higher RPMs or all the time?

Gotcha. I have a 2006 Subaru WRX STI and it's fun to drive. It is getting too uncomfortable so I am going to be looking at selling it here soon probably. I'm probably going to just get a nice comfy sedan like a Honda Accord or something, but I'm sure I'll get the V-6 option so I still have some power. Opening up the intake on my car just makes it so you can hear the turbo spool much clearer. I'm sure you will enjoy the added tone, just don't put a fart can on the back lol.

MaSTa
i have a 2003 V6 honda accord that has plenty of get up and go. but at this stage of the game who needs power, im looking to cruise. :) ohhhhh and i have a 1500cc Intruder if i want power. but i cruise on that also like this morning:D. what a nice ride. i recommend BOTH.

The exhaust will be one of the last performance mods I make, and I'll be sure to do my homework. I want to take some restriction out but don't want the higher tones associated with the lower quality systems.
