Better Productivity - Employers can do more with less

We have something similar going on - hiring freeze over the last 5 years and down to 2/3 staffing. We get an emails that say something like: Surely you have time to work on this project.
Our reply is a nicely worded version of: Shirley retired, and all our analysts are busy working on that big project you told us was priority 1. :p
And don't call me Shirley!:D

In the NPS we hear the "more with less" crap so often that we used to have little signs that said: "I've been doing more with less for so long that now I can do everything with nothing."

When they cut the fat and over do it the result is crappy work, been there done that. Here we go not learning anything from our neighbors. Ever sense Spain became a Nanny State folks don't get hired full time they are part time or temporary that way they don't have to pay all of the Benefits and don't end up literally owning the employee for life. It looks like we are headed the same way.:suspicious:
