Yesterday's 3.6% price decline in the I-fund made way for a herd of AutoTracker members to pass it in the 2026 AutoTracker standings.

There are now 20 AutoTracker members who hold better returns than the I-fund. (15 non-premium)

It makes sense that 17 of the twenty were holding 100% G-fund yesterday. Some were already sitting in the G-fund coming into the month. Others made a timely move to the G-fund on Monday. Now, a handful of these new AutoTracker leaders are moving back into stock funds.

joxanal is the current AutoTracker leader. You may remember them as the winner of the February Return Contest, which they achieved with a late February move to the G-fund.

We’re seeing a market shake-up that feels similar to the volatility sparked by last year’s tariff headlines. This time, it’s the conflict involving Iran rattling investors.

Here’s a snapshot of how non-premium AutoTracker members are performing so far this year.

The median member is up 0.49% in 2026, which puts them ahead of both the C-fund and S-fund, though still slightly behind the more defensive G-fund and F-fund.

Meanwhile, a handful of strong performers are pulling the distribution upward, leaving the return spread positively skewed.

So where do you land in the distribution?

joxanal remains at the top of the 2026 AutoTracker standings and must be enjoying their 100% G-fund allocation while stock prices slip further this morning.

They are among eight of the current Top 10 who are holding 100% G-fund today.

Last year's struggle was outpacing the I-fund's return. It carried its reputation as the best performing fund into 2026 and now it is the only TSP stock fund with a positive return for the year (+3.14% as of 3/18).

But last year's tariff lessons have prepared some of our members for this year's Iran war sell-off. As of the 3/18 standings, there are 53 AutoTracker members with a better return than the I-fund in 2026. Only two members ended 2025 with a better return than the I-fund through the year.

Many of the 53 are still in defensive mode on this red morning. We are reaching the IFT deadline and the ACWX (I-fund) is down 1.1% for the day. The 53 members ahead of the I-fund hold an average of 67.3% of their TSPs in the G-fund. Meanwhile, their I-fund average is 24.9%.

We will be watching these members closely among other in the Last Look Report

The G-fund has officially passed the I-fund for best return for 2026:

All TSP funds outside the G-fund are priced lower than where they started the year. Anyone TSP investor who has not participated in stocks is up 0.9% for the year.

Meanwhile there are 86 TSP Talk AutoTracker members with better 2026 returns than the G-fund. The top two leader for the year, joxanal and Wildwoman, are up nearly 11% in 2026.
