After the I-fund controlled the August standings for most of the month, the leaderboard finally shifted yesterday—and things just got interesting.

With only three trading days left in August, five AutoTracker members have now pulled ahead of the I-fund’s monthly return.

Four of those five are riding a 100% S-fund allocation, while rs245 stands apart with a diversified mix. (Their exact allocation is only visible to fellow Premium Members in the AutoTracker standings.)

All five leaders have been active this month, each using at least one IFT. Pickles and lartra have made two moves.

The current leader, Pickles, holds a healthy advantage with three trading days to go. Their path to the top has been decisive: starting the month in the F-fund, shifting to the C-fund within days, and then making a late push into the S-fund last week.

That grew quickly.

Yesterday the C and S-fund provided their investors modest gains while the I-fund took a slight loss for the day. Now 12 members are outperforming the I-fund through August.

Where are these 12 allocated now and where were they at the end of July?

The current average allocation of these 12 is:

G-fund: 0%, F-fund: 0%, C-fund: 10.0%, S-fund: 87.5%, I-fund: 2.5%

The same 12 started the month with an average allocation of:

G-fund: 66.7%, F-fund: 8.3%, C-fund: 9.6%, S-fund: 4.2%, I-fund: 11.3%

At the start of the month, the 12 members who now sit ahead of the I-fund were positioned mostly out of stocks. Their average allocation was two-thirds in the G-fund, with only 4.2% in the S-fund and about 10% in the C-fund. They were defensive, waiting for an entry.

That positioning has flipped completely. As of today, the group holds 0% in the G and F-funds, and has piled into stocks—almost entirely the S-fund.
