[$$] Asian stocks fall after Trump comment on Xi meeting
Equities moved lower in Asia-Pacific trading on Friday after Donald Trump ruled out a meeting with his Chinese counterpart before a March 1 deadline for the Washington to strike a deal with Beijing over trade. In Hong Kong, where traders were returning from the lunar new year break, the Hang Seng index was down 0.4 per cent. While Chinese markets remained closed, the Hang Seng China Enterprises index dropped 0.9 per cent.
