Asia-Pacific equities tracked Wall Street gains higher despite a disappointing reading on China’s manufacturing sector, but the region’s bourses were still lined up to record their worst month in years. China’s CSI 300 of Shanghai- and Shenzhen-listed companies was up 1.1 per cent, rounding out a turbulent month in which regulators have worked to underpin a market battered by slowing economic growth and the US-China trade war.
