Any problems with the MB today?

Did anyone experience any very slow periods on the MB today? I have been off and on the board this morning but had no problems.

The webhosting company is trying to talk me into upgrading to a new server suggesting that our current server(s) are not powerful enough for the traffic we get.

It all started after a required software upgrade for security purposes so I don't believe it is the server, but rather some server setting that need tweaked. We already use 2 dedicated servers for TSP Talk.

Monday mornings tend to be the busiest so I am curious if the MB got slow this morning.

Thanks!

One thing I have noticed for quite a while is that the MB forgets I've read a certain thread or threads (as do I). So I end up revisiting them or, if I know I've read them, I go back into them just long enough so the MB marks them as read again for me.

It would probably save on bandwith if each thread had a checkbox so you could mark several threads, then a "Mark as Read" button at the top. I just don't know if vBulletin supports this feature.

I'm on a government computer so I think that was my problem this morning. Never had any problems at home.

I didn't get home for lunch till after 12:00 so I don't know about that critical 11:30 to 12:00 time frame but while I was here (probably 12:10 till 12:25) all was well.

Thanks. I saw that. It seemed to come out of nowhere.

I have a work order input to move the site to a more powerful server. I'm not sure when it will be completed. Hopefully over the weekend.

I'm noticing some oddities on how the MB loads today. No top 12 and page loads with errors.
Thanks. What browser is that?

I am playing with the top 12 stats so you may see them come and go in IE, but still working on the Firefox issue.

Tom I'm having the same problems with both IE & FF. I loaded Windows 7 Service pack 1 last night

Tom, I've tried the MB in both IE and FF. Main page hangs at the point where the top 12 says loading. I can get to Today's Posts, etc. But I can't use Bold, Italics, Underline, and "quotes" prints sometimes as Ampersand + quot + semi-colon.

Same with me. I have firefox, and yesterday, there was a new version of firefox automatically downloaded. firefox 3.6.16. Until JUST NOW, it was all screwed up. I don't know what you did, but it just popped back in, and everything is fine now. it WAS screwed up- the "top 12" at the top of the page was unable to load properly. Now it is working fine.

looks like there's some extra lag at the tailend...
+ add a bit for me being on the Clear network.

I decided to install the lastest version of VB just to see if it would help, and it appeasr to have worked. Perhaps a file was corrupted and it is now restored.

Thanks for all of your help!

Thanks Tom, sorry for any confusion, next time I'll back-check it with my IE for confirmation. Everything appears dandy now. :)
