a little annoyed

Mmmm perhaps we're being a bit toooo harsh.

These 3D Body scans could actually be a very Huge 'turn on' ...
(I don't have a pic of someone panting with their tongue hanging out)

I mean no detailed face to embarrass the specific person ... and it would not be a distraction for the viewer either .....

soooo maybe we should keep them -- across the board :);)

James48843, one problem is what if you miss and shoot through the plane causing the aerodynamic to be F! up then you would cause more harm then good.

or what if a terrorist know you have a gun and walk by and knock you on the head with a bottle of champagne, i dont care how super man you are, you gonna be knock out if a bottle champagne meet your head

#1- The plane will still fine is you missed. Trust me, I know. You won't harm a thing. In fact, the plane might not even know anything has happened.

#2- Yes, I might get knocked out by the champaign. But the other 100 passengers on the plane would notice the guy with the champaign bottle, and would take proper steps to ensure he didn't go any further.

No big deal.

Let's be honest here, some of these TSA folks are self-loathing azzhats with too much power and too little customer service skills. It's obvious some hate their jobs, and they have no problem taking it out on you. Have you ever challenged one of them? I have, they hate to be wrong, and some of them don't even know the rules.

If TSA could only point to ONE SINGLE TERRORIST they had prevented from boarding a domestic flight, I would feel differently. They would publicize it, wouldn't they? We would all know about it, right? Does anyone have any info?

As it stands I will not fly again unless it is an emergency. After they threw away my sister's homemade blackberry jam because the jars were too big, that was it for me. I even showed them my gov't ID, mentioned that I am a veteran, 25 years service to my country, etc., etc.[/QUOTE]

You don't get a pass because you showed your ID card and related the other stuff to the TSA agent. The jars may be okay but the contents was more than allowed.

I spent a few years working for the FBOP (Fed Bureau of Prisons) and trust me you can beat those metal detectors and x-ray machines. My hats off to the TSA on their efforts to increase security! If they wanted to really increase security, they wouldn’t allow any carryon baggage at all. The best weapon you can have is the passengers and crew. The old days of going along with anyone with a knife are over because if you let them take the plane you’re dead. They might take a few passengers, but they can’t take on 100 or more. My brother is a 777 pilot and is a retired USAF Lt.Col. who flew F-4’s, F-5’s and F-16’s. He told me if anyone tried to take his plane by force, you had better strap yourself in because you will not be able to walk through the cabin while in flight.:cool:

For once I agree with James. Go ahead and continue to give up your freedoms in the name of security, but do you really feel more secure? Just wait for them to start embedding RFID chips in your ass in the name of "security."

Freedom in this country exist only in illusion, you might be annoyed, but I'm discusted...

New advice to all as to how to get explosives and firearms past the pornoscopes/AITs. The only solution is strip searches and body cavity inspections for all. Or the UN-politically correct Israeli method. Oh no, we can't do that. It might offend someone.
http://news.travel.aol.com/2010/12/...full-body-scanners-easily-duped/?ncid=webmail

Now the media is playing up the TSA presence at trains and subways. And the public reaction is "well, if it's for safety...." ah, submission.

When will Americans find something unacceptably intrusive and ask for a different method instead of their employees being told to treat everyone alike? Why sure, search that 80 year old nun. There is a .00003 probability it's a disguise. Now, much more than before, your purse, wallet, laptop etc are at risk as you are forced to lose sight of them. Now, you have to get your pockets emptied of everything except small lint. For theater and PC.

i feel really annoyed by some people in the US who think that the frisking and body scan at the airport should be banned, i mean cmon really? its there for a reason honestly if ya dont like it take a car, bus or a train. people keep saying it violate the 4th amendment but honestly they dont want to have terrorist on the planes either so theres just no happy ground for those people. they want a safer ride yet bitch about security being enforce...sorry i felt like ranting here since most of you guys are more mature and a little bit more easy to discuss things with, anyone got inputs?

OK -- first time reading this but here's my input.

FIRST - and most importantly -- and I really mean this -- it wouldn't make any difference how 'practical' - or 'advantageous' something is -- anything that is placed upon a large population will always - and without exception bring 'The Grumblers' out to make a big stink.

So you have to expect this s*** and know it's par for the course.

SECOND - and most importantly - 99% of this is a bunch of BS totally in place to counter what happened on 9/11. Terrorists are a certain group of people wholly in place to cause significant destruction and death and thus cause widespread 'terror'. Federal Employees at the crucial 'working level' identified the 9/11 Terrorists and alerted their superiors prior to the Twin Tower Bombings -- that only went up a few levels before it was totally dismissed -- and that is why it happened.

THIRD - I personally believe it is totally ridiculous that treating every person to enter the airport like a criminal and making every 4th person take off their shoes - and openly making every person 'suspect' in any manner helps to identify 'Real Terrorists'. I think taking people like my parents, wife and kids, and family and me (and Birch) and making 'us' feel like we're about to enter a prison is 'insulting'. My point is US Citizens of flawless - outstanding character - should be given a card that rightfully allows them to take their flights 'hassle free'.

FOURTH - and most Importantly - when you have people like Bluehenge and Steel_Magnolia going through these 3D Body Scans -- It very much robs them of their 'Dignity' --- knowing they are totally exposed and their pictures could circulate for entertainment of millions. I would equally say that either one of these ladies would feel hugely violated have some stranger running their hands over their bodies.

So in conclusion -- I have NO Problem with the 3D Body scans and the searches - as long as me and my family, Steel_Magnolia, Bluehenge, Birch -- and ALL U.S. Citizens of 'outstanding character' have a means of Identification that allows them to by pass those of suspecious character, those with criminal backgrounds, and all others identified as 'questionable'.

Those who have an 'outstanding reputation' and have consistently lived with 'flawless character' and are wholly US Citizens have fully earned their RIGHT to be seperated from the others.

Right, except the percentage is higher. We only caught the Yemeni packages because of a tip to the Saudis and then we had two weeks....Can you say "theater"!!! And TSOs are impressed to find a knife. They have been lax on the 3oz bottles though. I had one outside my quart bag last trip. :D

At last a thread I know something about. :D
They don't permit you, as the selectee for enhanced pat down, to select the pretty lady TSO. You're guaranteed same gender. Not necessarily same sexual orientation though so Viagra won't do anything.

After Tyner in San Diego made his "junk" statement, humorous postings suggested certain actions but since then cooler heads have prevailed. Some stunts like the bra/panties of the disabled doctor and the speedos of the man have continued but die hard resisters of the pornoscopes AITs have had to settle for real hard pat downs and reports of problems like the man whose exterior bladder broke, the woman at her time of the month, etc. continue. Best advice is to remove absolutely everything FROM clothes, including items previously ok for the WTMDs and accept the government's new AIT scanning. Then submissively accept any follow on physical search. Stand by for the hand running up your leg until it meets "resistance." :)

Do this while %50 of the stuff in the baggage compartment goes unscanned.

I'm looking forward to my next flight. I plan to take a big dose of Viagra and opt for the pat down and hope I get a attractive woman TSA agent. :D Should make for a interesting flight.
