Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Question--what is needed for a + fv. Are the US markets high enough?

thanks

Keep in mind, it's not how much the USM have moved, or how much the dollar has moved, but rather what they have done AFTER NOON that will generally trigger an FV.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

I was thinking that as well but didn't see as big a rally overseas after U.S. opened that I would have liked to. I moved in with some hesitancy today. Probably will pay for it......again.

That's actually a good thing. It means more room to move up tomorrow. Let's all hope Bernacke plays nice tomorrow.

Are you back in the I fund Wheels? Did you see my almost "No Brainer" call?

No. Still waiting in the G. So I have to disagree with you on the "play nice" thing. I'm afraid I am hoping that Bernanke talks about nothing but impending rampant inflation.

LOL! I hope he saves that for Thursday.:D

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

IMHO, this almost a "No Brainer". The problem is Bernake. The dollar should fall again tomorrow.

S&S,

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but the strong finish in the USM should convince the Asains to shoot for the moon. Japan should continue it's rally and Hong Kong should have a very nice bounce. The dollar is being very coorperative.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

I had a feeling the I would explode today. However;based on the Fed speaking, I went to the F Fund. The I Fund should pause before any more movement. Also, we were lucky about Alcoa setting a postive mode today.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Have a feeling the market sucked new money in today, looking for a pullback across the board, unless the Fed avoids questions and is friendly. Inflationary pressure is here.

I don't want to sound like I'm critizing your strategy but I just don't understand the F fund move. If you're expecting Bernacke to be hawkish, wouldn't the G fund have been a better choice? If Bernacke is hawkish, bond yields would go up and F fund would go down.

I can envision this happening. I certainly hope so. But whatever does happen tomorrow, I'm fairly certain I'll be moving 100% to the G fund for the rest of the week.

I understand. Hopefully, Bernacke will be friendly, like he was on the Fed announcement 2 weeks ago. He said growth was strong with low inflation. Although, was that the day the president visited the NYSE? If he plays nice, the F fund should do well. And you're right the F fund is over sold.

Another big push up and the S&P will be overbought. On the other hand, the dollar still has more room on the downside, especially if the Fed is friendly. But it will be more risky to stay in for Thursday. A pullback in the USM on Thursday morning will mean profit taking in the OSM and we would be relying solely on the dollar to help cushion the I fund.

My other scenerio for Thursday is for the overbought USM to be flat in the morning. If the dollar continues to fall, the I fund might still make a few pennies. But again, the risk is out-weighting the reward.

Furthermore, I have the G paying this Friday.:)

If anybody has got other opinions for Thursday and Friday, please share them.

I think I'd wait on the surprise PPI number to show a decline of 0.6%, a reversal from the 0.9% increase in December. Core PPI to show unchanged at 0.2%. BOE releases their numbers at 0530 tomorrow our time.
