Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Thanks Sugar!

So, are we expecting it to be up tomorrow in response to the ECB guy's hawkish comments at the news conference?

Japan opened up 1%. Australia looks higher also. That's a good start! Could be a $BIG$ day! :D

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Good luck everyone and good news.

Dollar is dropping, was +.40 at 5am est, now +.21 est. If it keeps it up you'll make some money today.

The dollar is hurting the I fund big time. Japan's big night is keeping the I fund in the black.

The dollar is hurting the I fund big time. Japan's big night is keeping the I fund in the black.

The Euro faction is having to defend it's currency on two fronts; 1). they can't let the dollar depreciate to much because that hurts exports with the U.S. and 2). they have to massage the exchange rate with Japan because Japan will do everything to protect their export base and the way they do that is allowing their currency to depreciate against whomever they have a trade surplus with. This is one huge battle, the PRIMARY battle deals with how these CB's deal with the Yuan exchange rate. Here's some forward thinking. It would be interesting to see if Barclays could pressure Morgan to reconfigure this Index to trade weight and include the Yuan. But as we head toward a huge trade war with China, it is wishful thinking on my part.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

Do you guys think this would be a good point to jump back in the I fund?? I got out last friday at 21.68 thinking we would have a correction...

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

350, I would be sweatin' bullets until MSCI posted the EAFE if it wasn't for you! Thanks again for the estimates.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

I suppose the questions are: how much of a -FV, and did the small jump in the EFA after 350's estimate cushion the blow any?

As of right now the I fund is looking at a -FV of 17 cents for a total of -10. The dollar is a non-factor. If Barclays wants to be aggressive, it might be as high as -22 cents for a total of -15.

Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread-Feb07

gotcha, the -10 cents equates to a loss of .44% and the 15% is about -.66%.
