It had nothing to do with Bush....GOLDMAN SACHS BULLSHIT RUMOR...The last half-hour,some hedge funds made some serious money. They overshorted and scalped for quick profits. When the market is walking on egg shells any rumor will start a panic. However;they know that Financials are way oversold!!The same hedges who were shorting were going long into the close!!! That is how money is made. These markets are ideal for hedges funds.

Looking At Some -fv!!

It sure looked that way but were closing even with noon.

Turns out today was the perfect example of the strategy behind the post positive FV buy hypothesis. Looks like the I-fund should close top dog and indeed day 3 second half was not as good as day 2 second half.

Bring on the myth busters! I think we got a winner :D. Now I just have to slink to the sidelines before this puppy rolls over.

Hopefully a miracle will happen and Barclay will see the drop as a glitch and decide to still give a +FV! :)

I can dream, right?

Fabio
i think your right 10 cent fair value is my prediction added to the 42 cents for a 52 cent increase , its just a prediction!!! any takers ???

Who started that rumor?

Must be like you said - some hedge fund holding shorts.
LOL, It was a group of hedge funds who overshorted. They leeked bad info. to the right media person who allowed it to take a life of its own. They covered the postions and went long. Look at the last half hour of action. It speaks for itself.

It was heading that way, but we got lucky because GOLDMAN released a AP news report saying that they were not warning. We would of got screwed if they held-off until after-hours.

12% you seem to be up on all the inner workings of the system, is market manipulation, rumors, buy and sell programs, etc....illegal?

If that is correct, I got to believe that there are a lot of people heading to jail from the shenanigans that have been pulled in the last week or so.

It has been going on since the market was created. The small guys like us get slammed. Is it illegal? sure. However;you have to prove it and they have the best lawyers that money can buy. In other words we are screwed.lol

Leaking misinformation is illegal.

For your reading pleasure...here it is http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/newstex/AFX-0013-18762222.htm The Dow Jones industrial average initially surged more than 190 points, then dropped into negative territory in the last hour of trading, reportedly on speculation that investment bank Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:GS) would release some negative news. When Goldman Sachs dispelled the rumor, the Dow rebounded to finish up more than 150 points.

Can results we have been getting be attributed to automated Buy and Sell programs kicking in when 1- 2 % moves up or down occur? Seems to be too obvious for SEC investigators otherwise. Thoughts anyone?:suspicious:

Seems to be a correlation to me, with the big ups in the last 30 minutes of the day. In fact news services stated that all of these, in the last week were due to buy or sell computer generated programs. I'm gonna send the sell programs a computer virus!

Speaking of manipulation, does anyone remember that proposal last year to add a REIT option to the TSP that was shot down. Considering what we know now about subprimes that we didn't know last year, could this proposal have been a precursor to what is happening now.

In last year's government executive, it said ""A great deal of concern was raised about the possibility of political manipulation of large pools of Thrift Plan money. This legislation was designed to preclude that possibility. One, the board, composed of presidential appointees, could be susceptible to pressure from the administration. Two, the Congress might be tempted to use the large pool of thrift money for political purposes."

Just wondering. The article is at http://www.governmentexecutive.com/story_page.cfm?filepath=/dailyfed/0406/042706r2.htm
