Im thinking momentum is with us this afternoon. And will carry tonights action overseas. But I WILL NOT use "that word" ever again regarding the I fund. Last time I got crushed soon after. Even if we +FV today it will mean we had a huge rally after the cut-off and will benefit tomorrow even more.

I hope I don't come off sounding like an idiot, but I'm holding my positions.
I'm sitting at 30G, 30F, & 40I

I bought into 30I at 23.93 and I'm hoping that will stay the bottom.
I bought into F at 11.37. I havent realized it's profits yet, and I don't want to get out of F, while the C is hammering it down.

Opinions wellcome

Here's the problem with the F:

The Bad.

Dollar falling off a cliff. Yields shooting up. My guess is that it's because of the Chinese threat to dump our bonds. The last time they sold our bonds was back in early June. That caused yields to spike above the Feds fund rate. Which caused a sell-off in stocks. This is a serious threat.

China may sell off Treasury bonds if US imposes trade sanctions - report
08.08.07, 5:04 AM ET

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The Chinese government has hinted that it may liquidate its vast holding of US Treasury bonds, potentially triggering a crash in the dollar, if Washington imposes trade sanctions to force a yuan revaluation, The Telegraph reported.

The paper said that two Chinese officials at leading Communist Party bodies have given interviews in recent days warning, for the first time, that China may use its 1.33 bln usd of foreign reserves as a political weapon to counter pressure from the US Congress.

Thanks for the heads up. I was aware of that story, but didn't know how it would affect the F Fund. I wasn't planning on staying in F all that long. Now that you mentioned it, I may exit F sooner rather then later.

Edit to add: I'll start watching the bond yields. I've noticed watchin AGG doesn't seem to be a very good indicatior of which direction it is going.

Thanks :)

No Brainer is saying we will have a surplus by 2012 in the budget. No Brainer is saying lowest deficit in 40 years. It must be true. How will it shake the markets? Keep waiting.

If this rally holds or climbs till the cut-off (1200 eastern time) then slowly loses steam over the next 4 hours it may be enough to cause -FV. Then if you get out you will be "losing" the correction the following day. But the risk becomes greater because of the USM sell-off affecting OSM's and dragging it down greater than the FV correction. Today is a good day to speculate it. What do you think? Will rally, fade, or flatline after the cut-off?

Interestingly enough, the hypothesis calls for the second half of day two to be better then the second half of day three.....if we see the US market fade some this afternoon that may be what the I-fund needs today in order to beat this rocketing USM. Otherwise, it is looking like the S-fund was the place to be....;).

That's exactly what I was thinking! As I type, C fund is making intraday highs.

Not sure but are we getting close to a + FV? Griffin? Anyone?

Also, on Friday when the bottom fell out, who knew this week would be such a blow out? Anyone? I certainly didn't. And yes, Birchy, we know you did. Anyone else?

Pretty sure 12 said Friday that this week would be a good one!

I've been in stocks all week. Looking for an exit.
