camper65, this will tell us if they are sitting on them and processing them at a certain date or with a certain amount of TSP-50s from all of us. Please keep us posted on that. It is bullshit that you have to spend $18 to move your money around. At least, you are helping the USPS. GL and enjoy the warmer weather.

At least I'm not the only one who got that message...the FED is buffering WS from what's happening in the economy - and to hell with everything and everybody else. They are just creating another mess like the first mess that's causing this problem. IMO they are ignoring the economy in hopes it will "take care of itself" (which is what they should have let WS do), or just leaving the mess for the next administration.

I dont think we are in as much of a 'credit crisis' as we are in a 'debt crisis'..

If a HUMAN from TSP/OZ has anything to do with posting multiple IFT requests, they will be in the order recieved, with effectivity dates of greatest market weakness / decline; just to **** folks off. :notrust:

Good question. They say "in order received." What if your 2nd one gets there first? There are any number of options they could do.

1. Posted according to received (stamped in) date
2. Posted according to postmark date
3. Posted according to date on TSP-50

Hi,I faxed in request to remove the restriction because I did not rec the warning letter and not fair because some frequent traders rec letters, some did not.
I just call, they approved and mailed out the letter last friday. Just let every body know.GL

They mailed out your Warning Letter Friday, or your release from restriction...?

As my understanding : warning letter was the first one,certified letter was the 2nd one,this is an approved removal from snail mail status.You can call to find out the status if you don't want to wait till the mail arrives.I would rather to find out for sure before I do IFT instead of guessing when they rec my request and when they will act on or you can plan how many days in advance to mail a IFT request if they disapprove.GL

I have not tried yet because I got stuck since 4/01,now the market is down many days already, I would wait at least till next week to get out.I figured that if they sent letters to 549 frequent traders each 2 letters and blocked on line IFTs, they should have the name list in their computer and they just have go to that list to remove the restriction one by one with name and acc# and it should be done ASAP after approving and it should be effective immediately.
My fax has only 6 lines stated that I did rec the certified one,not fair because I was not warned and many frequent traders did not rec any letter,now timming is the key,I need IFT on line till soft ware installed.
try to be professionally state the reasons why they need to reconsider your case and politely thank for the consideration.
Some MB members post that it takes 1rst request 7 days,2nd request mailed 3 days later but in effect the next days,so they mess you up in every way that you cannot even guess.! and even posted wrong funds!.

I spoke to a lovely customer service rep from the TSP. Very helpful indeed. Here is some updated news FWIW. You can now fax in your TSP-50. The Fax number is 866-817-5023. I mailed in my TSP-50 to enter the S Fund and it still was not received. This week it cost me over 7000 dollars from just waiting. This is very sad. I am still stuck in the G Fund. Also she told me they are aiming for the new rules to go into effect May/June. To be honest with everyone, I rather have my 3 EFTs including the last one to be the G Fund then to handle my trading this way. Trading with the TSP-50 is like playing the lottery. My luck ,when they receive and post my transfer to the S Fund, the market will be in a bad mood. I never seen anything more crazy than the way this is handled and I have been a trader since 1987 on my own. At the very least TSP should of punished us my giving us the 3 EFTs per month while we wait for the new rules to kick in. Another note..Appealing with Mr. Long, she told me it will take up to 30 days for him to respond. By the time this happens the new rules will be into effect. SAD

OK let me make a few bullets here for clarification, and you can answer me.

• She said they are accepting FAX TSP-50 from the 500 "evildoers"? That's not as good as electronic but much better than snail mail.
• Prior to the interim rule, we have always been able to mail, fax, or use TSP line for IFT's, so if they are accepting FAXed 50's from the 500, then they could probably use TSP line as well. Nothing said about this?
• Mr. Long has already stated verbally and in writing that the limits won't go into effect until at least May 1.

Yes, you can fax the TSP-50 now. However; she told me it could take up to 7 business days and mailing the TSP-50 could take up to 14 business days. So please take out your magic 8 ball and ask what should you do. Crazy, it is like trading in the dark. TSP-50 should be called TSP-Lottery 50 form.

Well I found out something interesting tonight when I got home. I made my first mail TSP I believe April 1st - send regular postage from DC. I thought it hadn't gone through, foolishly I didn't check my online account. Today I received a letter from our friends saying that the transfer occurred effective 4/9. Subsequently I made another mail EFT from Arizona on 4/9, I haven't received a snail mail reply yet but my online account shows a transfer occurred on 4/14 (Monday). So at least I caught today's wave (I went 60S, 40C).

The turds send a response via snail mail, it took 1 week to get here after they processed it. Nothing like utilizing technology to keep their members informed. And wasting a stamp, criminal.

On April 9, I sent an IFT by regular mail to be on the F fund and I saw it posted today. This restriction makes everything very risky. It's going to be almost impossible to avoid losses with this system.

I sent a letter each to Gregory Long & Thomas K. Emswiller concerning about my sanction. They finally responded and they lifted my restriction. However, I had to swallow my pride and beg them to remove my sanction and I would obey faithfully to their new rules. In addition, I told them that I did not receive the certified letter & the warning letter dated 01/24/08. Also, I stated to them that because of the restriction, it costed me a lot of money and aggravation.

This is so unjust and a total scam. I thought our Founding Fathers fought for our rights. Capitalism ended on April 1st, the biggest April Fools Prank was on us. Thanks TSP for turning into a Dictatorship. They cost me close to $10,000 after yesterdays huge gain.
The Russians have a better system installed than us. Thanks TSP for roadblocking me to making a few bucks. I guess I need a passport to enter the land of the privileged.
