12%ayear's Account Talk

I was buying YHOO,AAPL,QQQQ,and EBAY today. This is what mutual funds/hedge funds want. They want to scare you out of the market and buy cheap shares. Look for 14000s before the end of the year. :) NASDAQ lost 7% in a week. Buy here.

Would you rather buy at 14300 or 12800-13100?? Gee, I don't now when great stocks go on sale I would much rather buy Goog at 740 or 660 ......hmmmm - or is it the other way around? That's a real tough one there.

When AKAM dropped to .67 cents from like $400 bucks- that's right 67 cents I wonder how you felt when you sold it at $50 then bought back again at $29 and watched it jump up to $38.

Your reasoning is correct 12%.

Sometimes its not such a bad idea to buy the same thing a little cheaper.

I never thought I would feel releived to only lose 1.36% in a day. Friggin crazy. At 1530 the DOW was down ~100.00 points. 15 minutes later it was down < 220.00 points. People just need to settle down and buy and quit selling all day. lol......

I'll probably do a little more buying on Monday - but of course I'm a long term player and dividend accumulator and I don't mind being devalued for a period of time. I've only sold one stock so far in this correction and purchased 21. I've learned to appreciate the bottom of the well - that's where I function best. No fear here.

AKAM , I remember clearly. It was an internet play from Cambridge,MA. TZOO was another insane play.went from pennies to over $100. The float was very small and the shorts kept on getting killed. Remember CMCR? went to over a$1000 a share and now Chapter 11. bUY WHEN THERE IS BLOOD, SELL WHEN EVERYONE WANTS THEM.

Geaux, remember that this is part of the game. They want this to happen to scare people out. Sharks control the media. They will scare the crap out of you, like the sky was falling. Yes, there are some problems like high oil, weak dollar, weak retail numbers, sub-prime, and earnings. This is already factored in. This FED is in serious trouble, Ben is a cheerleader for the bears lately. I lost in the 5 digits in one week. I am I upset? no, because this will make me stronger and will get back the lost paper capital and then some.:)

The environment is completely different now as compared to the tech bubble. Today we have soild companies with clean books and good esarnings. Many tech companies generate a hefty percentage of their earnings from their international sales. This is like shopping at Wal-Mart. Let the financials continue with their writedowns - buy'em now because the market will be looking to the future. All my dividend reinvestments this week have a sweet smell to them - and then there may be more sweetness next week.

Before we had the ENRON, Worldcom, and etc. Now we have greedy banks that overlended money to home flippers and a new breed of homeowners( interest only, 40 year mortgages). This is like the Mafia loansharking business. When the loanshark/soldier lends out too much money to bad debtors and all cannot afford to pay him at once. Guess what? The capo is going after the loanshark/soldier and he will be hurt. With the banks, when borrowers cannot pay, they have to write it -off. Guess who pays? us

WEEKEND THINGS TO FIX LIST FOR THE FED and CO.. 1. support the US DOLLAR by buying it or pretty soon we will using it as toilet paper. 2. cut rates 3. do not put down the economy 4. Bush should open oil reserves and start talking tough with these OPEC pimps.

Something to think about - possible another thing needing a "FIX?"

Nnuut initially brought this up (Re: nnuut's Account Talk, post #2399), on 11/5/07: - Markets’ in another late day rally, do I see a trend here? This is 3 out of the last 5 days and more before that. Looks like Day Traders are buying low almost every day at about 14:30? Buy low, sell high. They may be selling the next morning?
I agreed it has looked strange & speculated: Like to hear any opinions if there could be some collusion of BIG institutions going on (with maybe even the SEC intentionally looking the other way) – joking, “its a good conspiracy theory anyway!”
Nnuut responded: These are big money moves for sure and they are Day Trading, buying low and selling high, The difference isn't that much but the volume is tremendous, big bucks! Who is it, nobody knows! - Who said that, I SAID THAT!! [Smile]
I added: Griffin's post (#1007) interestingly discusses the "Big Boys" dissatisfaction with Ben's last statement, and that this may support theory that "they" will try seeking satisfation elsewhere (& any way they can) -like obvious strategy we're discussing. Jokingly I added: What was Mel Gibson's character's name in the movie? Think I should destruct-enable my residence?? [Double Smile]

Point of above, relates to Yahoo Market news today – just as one example (that begs further questions): 11/09/07; My Yahoo-Market Update@ (http://finance.yahoo.com/marketupdate/update (review link today!)
3:00 pm: The stock market continues to trade near its best levels of the session following a late day surge in buying interest][Strikingly, like yesterday, the financial sector (+1.9%) is spearheading the late day rally. The reversal of financial sector is especially impressive considering it has rallied 4.5% from its intraday low.]
2:30 pm: [An increase in buying interest has pushed the major indices to their best levels of the session since the opening plunge. The S&P 500 is now down only 4 points] [Buying interest is broad-based][Of note, Wachovia (WB 40.76, +0.46), which caused the sell-off of financials this morning, has made it back to positive territory!!!.DJ30 -90.72 NASDAQ -33.14 SP500 -4.42]

I leave further theory to those who know sources for info (and whether there's merit to any of this speculation).
Thanks for listening/opportunity!

Man, it's about time, we need a strong dollar. To turn it around will mean lots of pain in the rebound, but it will be worth it in the end.:D Let's hope this is the beginning!
