    Poolman's Account Talk

I took this from another site that I lurk on. This guy trades options daily and I believe does pretty well at it. I agree with this assessment. ".........as I've written soooo many times, da-Boyz "HOLD" prices at any given level to either accumulate or distribute shares! This morning...

    Malyla's Account Talk

Criticism and defense Economists Robert Ekelund and Mark Thornton have criticized the Act as contributing to the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis, arguing that while "in a world regulated by a gold standard, 100% reserve banking, and no FDIC deposit insurance" the Financial Services...

    Poolman's Account Talk

Remember, the market is nothing more than a way to buy into the earnings stream of companies, usually on a "best guess" basis months to even years out in the future. A sound case can be built that earnings streams going forward are seriously impaired, and historic valuations placed on those...

    Poll results: are people crazy?

"Why? People assume that the way things are is the way things will be. This logic says: the market has gone down 50%, so it must keep going down; gold has gone up, it must keep climbing; real estate is worthless, it will lose more value." For some, yes. For others, though, looking forward we...

    Market Talk / Mar. 1st - 7th

I'm pretty sure I will be. Tom's scenario could happen. It's a perfect set up to launch off of a horrible jobs number. The low might even come as early as tommorrow, chop around for the next two days, dip down briefly after the release of the number........ then up we go. I put some in today...

Even though may may have continued legs in this rally, or worse yet a sell off this afternoon followed by more strength through Friday....... I'm taking some off the table today. Over 10% in 2 days........ you just have to put that in the bank.

    Successful Market Timer

This Is so very, very true. This statement is the root cause of recurring failure of even the "successful" market timers, most of which have static/technical models. I don't think you should ever be involved with a system which gives you signals that you don't understand. This is...

LOL.......... The best bullish divergence signal I've ever seen is to diverge from your "buy" or "hold" bullish recommendations ..........and sell like hell.

After breaching the '02-'03 lows, the SPX seems to be in no-mans' land. Having spent some time trying to extract a bottom projection, I think the most logical area is to look at the NYA, which hasn't yet tested it's '02-'03 lows of 4500. I don't see how we come out of this before that happens...

This is the secret to long term survival/success as a market timer. Always look forward with fresh analysis, using the most recent data. Act as if you've inherited the account..... who cares how the balance came to be what it is. I pulled some out at around 950, then again the last day of...

    Show-me Account Talk

Best (most reliable) car I ever owned (and 1st new car, except for the one I bought the folks as a thank you when I got myself together as a responsible adult) was a Mercury Tracer. My Dad's pride and joy was a '53 Ford Victoria. Bought it used in '54, I think for about 1/2 a years...
