    Federal Government Balance Sheet (MTS)

The strange thing is they focused on terminating leases in the soft term when there was no penalty for leaving the lease. The money earmarked to move agencies into federal buildings would have been planned already, and barring some large projects I'm unaware of, there weren't any. Thanks to...

    Federal Government Balance Sheet (MTS)

Great stuff Boghie. Is the GSA increase due to the consolidation of contracting or something else? I work in the agency and I can attest that we've got about 50% of the staff we did in January and other than the influx of ICE projects, mostly everything else is relatively dead or moving like...

    Grocery Prices

Weather may be a larger factor than tariffs, particularly as the tariff effect ends as Trump ended them for coffee in November. CNBC article

    Grocery Prices

Odd thing and speaks to Boghie's point about not using coffee as a metric. I buy my beans from a more local roastery via Sam's at 2.5 lbs per purchase. November, 2023 it was $19.98. Today it is $21.98. Increase of 10%, that price has been sitting at $21.98 for most of the year as I've...

    Grocery Prices

Do you have some sort of proof for the coffee price doubling in less than a year? I did a search and found 2024 prices to be between $9 and $15 depending on location. You could get that coffee at Amazon today for $9.24 if you want to save some money.

IRS issues new Trump Account Rules

I had a similar idea in my head a few years ago as this Trump account. One main difference is whatever the government puts in it needs to be paid back before the money in the account can be accessed. From 0-18 it's 0%. At 18 and beyond, interest compounds at the fed rate. This is only on the...

I think that's actually EPA, not NPS. I thought the CFR said probationary can only be fired for conduct or performance issues.

    JTH's Account Talk

The ytd starts when the site transitioned so ~ May. Not only are they technologically inept, but the English language seems to be beyond their grasp as well. But hey, fees went up, so they know how to make money.

    FEHB Health Premiums up

Re: Federal Employees Will Pay 8.7% More Toward Health Care Premiums Next Year Funny, I don't recall seeing my premiums go down when we were using fewer medical services. Can't we just ban forks?
