    TSP Tax Question

Thought I would drop an update on the solar. It's March of 2025. I'm still paying the minimum to be connected to the power company (33.00) a month. That and the payment for the solar panels combined ( I did not pay the balloon) is less than what my power bill was when I installed them several...

    TSP penalty for withdrawl

Update, I transferred it all into an IRA with etrade and I manage it myself. No penalty. Thought I would drop an update on the solar as well. It's March of 2025. I'm still paying the minimum to be connected to the power company (33.00) a month. That and the payment for the solar panels...

    Insurance question help please

I finally got through on the phone number, 2 hours of waiting, but got a person who made the change. I guess the take home for the phone service is that it does work; you just have to be patient (I'm talking days, not just hours). 888-767-6738

    OPM services online

Thank you, exnavyew (I was a CTI). I finally got through on the phone number, 2 hours of waiting, but got a person who made the change. I was going to try your option tomorrow if I failed again :) I guess the take home for the phone service is that it does work; you just have to be patient...

    Insurance question help please

Thank you for the replies. I'm taking them all into consideration. @evilanne: I thought perhaps it would happen automatically, I hope you are right and it did! @nasa1974: I don't see what I need on this form, did you see a way to change insurance for a lifetime event? Thanx in advance to all.

    OPM services online

I can't get through either. This is not a good time to be needing Government help :( Thanx for the links exnavyew (I was Navy CTI myself). I'm off to try them out. If anyone here gets through, I would love to hear how they pullled it off!

    Insurance question help please

Hello. I'm retired and have the federal insurance family plan. My youngest child just turned 26. I want to change from family to just couple plan. I've searched everywhere and can't find the form and procedure. I've even called OPM several times, but just get a recording saying call back later...

    Why do you hate annuities

Thank you for the replies. I'm quite supprized that there are only 2 responses, and neither are negative. I just read this thread: The Great Annuity Rip-Off (tsptalk.com) Man, this guy got torn apart for saying annuities are great. I think much of it was because of his tone and that it was...

    Supplement qustiion

Thanx so much. I think this is my answer. I'm still a little leary as it says "your social security benefits." I wish it said your supplement, but I'm probably overthinking.

    Why do you hate annuities

Ok, I've read a couple of threads that really don't like annuities. I've also gotten advice from friends to avoid annuities. My first thought is that if smarter people than I don't like annuities; well, maybe I should listen. But I'm a little thick, so I'm going to ask again. Here are my...

    Supplement qustiion

I receive a supplement to my federal pension until I turn 62. The supplement is contingent depending on how much income I have from outside work during the year. At some point (last I heard, it was 19,800 two years ago). After this threshhold, I start losing money from my pension. So, what I do...

Pension and working in retirement question

Thanx for the replies. I am 59 years old. I was talking about the supplement, sorry. I sure hope that Sean101 is wrong about 2022, I was told it was 19,800, and i got within 100.00. So, still hoping someone knows what 2023 will be...

Pension and working in retirement question

I'm retired Federal Law Enforcement and receiving a pension. I know that I start losing money from my pension if I make over a certain amount each year. I don't want to go over the allowable limit before I start losing money off my pension. Retirement Annuity Supplement (RAS) that will...

How much am I allowed to earn in retirement?

Yes, evilanne, I'm talking about the supplement. No reason to come to work for 1/2 or less what I'm getting. I'm 58 and retired mandatory at 57, so I don't believe that this affects my social security as I'm not getting anything. I do have the FERS Guide, but since the number changes every...
