Because I like Socialism!!!!! :D:D

NOT!!

There is NO way this towel wrapping Muslim will get my vote!

Because someone DOESN'T agree with your point of view, you and others McCarthy-ize them. If they don't agree with your views, they're either Communists, or Anti-American. Give me a break ok dude ? That's old and tired. The ONE thing I fought for our country for is the right to speak your/my mind. If you hate america haters (those whose opinion is different from yours....) maybe you should leave.I was in during the Vietnam era, and did my service to our country.

That's total BullSh!t..you are the same age as me and you were in High school as a Sophmore or Jounior (if you even graduated)..So knock off this "I served my country in Viet Nam" BS!..you are disrespecting everyone that did go to Nam.

Same as many others out there. I (and others) defended the right to speak up....whether I agree with it or not....I don't like Rush, but I defend his right to say things I disagree with, I don't like the KKK, but I defend their right to free speech, I don't agree with Abortion, but I defend a womans right for choice.
I will not stoop to McCarthyism tactics as you have proven you're quick to implement. If you don't like someone else's opinion, you can disagree with it, but other than that you should just learn to live with it, and get over it (and yourself).
Just Shut up!

Clinton was busy watching Monica; and couldn't take his eyes off her....so the terrorists had their way with us. I guess there was that one chance to get Osama Bin Ladin but the man with the finger on the trigger decided to go see Monica instead. He just couldn't pull the trigger on the right person.

Hey...I liked Ronnie! His starwars got the Russians off their duff...."tear down that wall Mr. Gorbachoff" can't spell Gorbys last name. And it worked! Obama seems like a likeable fella....a gifted talker...smoozer, very smooth! He's like the wolf in sheeps clothing. He and his buddy's or followers real agenda...of changing America with all their beliefs and beliefs of his mentors of his past. The tax part of what he plans is one thing...but more fundamental are the other changes he plans to make. It will be like this stock mkt crash....a once in a lifetime event....and it will take years to recover! It's not easy...we may be screwed twice this year. One by the mkt and the other by the election. Please vote!

I haters America haters..if you think it's so damn bad here, leave!..you have that right...in other countries you're not so fortunate to have that choice.
You were not born yet or just starting to crap your diapers like me...but since you brought it up..If the country had been more suspicious and watchful of the Al Qaeda movement..maybe 9-11 could have been thwarted....But no, we didn't want to offend any Middle Eastern going to American flight schools to learning to how to fly a plane, not land it or take off mind you, just how to turn off the plane's transponder and fly it..:suspicious:

That song by Joan Baez, sung at Woodstock back then was on target, but the nickname was resurrected during the Star Wars Defense Initiative.

Ronnie Ray-gun was in office from 1980 for 2 terms. SDI was part and parcel of his legacy to outspend the Kremlin in defense of the US of A, which it did, and the walls came tumbling down.

As for Joan Baez ???

She was correct back at Woodstock, and her forsight into Ronnie Ray Gun is right on target. That was then, this is now.

The Right man for the job will be elected to president soon.
Will he do better ? Who knows, but one thing for certain.....
He CAN'T do any worse.

and then there was this:

He was as bad as they come......

Yeah..didn't Joanie baby hang out at haight/Ash bury along with all the America haters back in the 60's?..I think she did if I recall now..

A gentle correction - Joan Baez referred to Gov Ronnie Ray Gun..zap while performing Drug Store Truck Driving Man at Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, NY on Aug 15, 1969. Star Wars (SDI) came about in 1983 and sorely embarrassed me as a member of the USAF stationed in Scotland. I took a lot of stuff about that name.

and then there was this:

Reagan opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (calling it "humiliating to the South"), and ran for governor of California in 1966 promising to wipe the Fair Housing Act off the books. "If an individual wants to discriminate against Negroes or others in selling or renting his house," he said, "he has a right to do so." After the Republican convention in 1980, Reagan traveled to the county fair in Neshoba, Mississippi, where, in 1964, three Freedom Riders had been slain by the Ku Klux Klan. Before an all-white crowd of tens of thousands, Reagan declared: "I believe in states' rights."
He was as bad as they come......

I'ts not real money, anyway.

It's little pieces of paper, with dead president's pictures on them.

No backing by any metal.

Remember wheelbarrows of worthless bills in the old Post WW1 Germany photos?

that's where we are headed...and maybe sooner rather than later.

How is the money distributed? A tax refund to people that get all of their payroll taxes back. So you can just call it a welfare check to 40% of workng America (how many checks is that?). Just like Christmas in May, what a Great Idea! View attachment 4939

I'm at a loss for words except that's not the American way and I'm not sure now what -ism dictates how much money a person is allowed to make. But you are free to give away any money you make that you feel guilty about or is greater than a million to anyone you want to. Maybe tell Ray Lewis he's not allowed to make over a million a year.;) How old are you?

CB

I never said that there should be a "salary cap" (though that seems to be a common term in business that a lot of people make a lot of money), but nobody needs more than a million a year. BTW, I am 28. I think I see it in a simple way. The poor can't support a country. If the rich pay a little more to keep our country a front runner, we all prosper. And, with the poor having a little more money as well, they will buy the products made by the rich. It is a shame that they wouldn't invest it, but maybe the rich could figure out a way to get the poor to invest, again, making them richer. Besides, didn't too much deregulation get us where we are today? There was too much power give to too many greedy people. All these insurance hedge funds were pulled out of thin air and we started trading fake money. That bubble popped, and we will be worse off than when we started. The people that created the bubble need to pay for it, not us. That will put a lot of people on the street, but that is the price to pay for risky business adventure. That's small business, and should be big business too. It will take some years, but the forest always grows back after a fire, only without all the overgrown under brush and moldy trees. Maybe I'm not informed. I know I am not educated and only read what my mouse clicks, but I'm sure some people here will inform me. I will read their whole post and take from it what I want, just like anything else I read.

Are you too young to remember the Star Wars defense initiative and such. That name was coined due to that tactic. Star Wars and Ray Guns.
Hence his nick-name....Ronnie RayGun

Sigh.....

As long as I dropped in - I would vote for Obama because:

1. I look forward to living in the rent free 100 sq ft apartment provided for federal WB employees. (I can understand them euthanizing my dog, but will always hold it against them they made me eat her as my bi-weekly allotment of food)

and

2. I look forward to working harder so those that choose not to work can have a better quality of life.

Cheers, Comrads:laugh:

you are misinformed. Give me a break!!
But you mean well I'm sure,
And that's the truth not a Novel!!
Norman:o

It would take too much time (and I am ready to give us all a break) but the points I've brought out are undeniable and anyone wanting to take the time and effort would find that and more.

Here I believe the MAIN POINT IS - The President (regardless of who it is) has responsibilities way beyond what one person should have to bear and every person has their limitations and weaknesses. No one could ever do a perfect job - especially in a system and in a world that is plagued with difficulties, weaknesses, and break downs.

Peace to you as well

I believe that Government has gotten progressively bigger and that each President (no matter) has not been able to get around that. Our current Administration is the record setting high.
That is an undeniable fact. So even without Corporate Influence the President is dealing with a system that has ever expanding layers of chiefs with at least 8 different tittles and each layer has gotten wider and the layers have gotten deeper.

SO FIRST - the system the President is placed over is way too big, complicated, and malfunctioning.

The puppetmasters are the same for both - they are the ones that have the money to buy the favors: THAT IS HOW IT WORKS AND HOW IN REALITY IT HAS WORKED FOR YEARS AND YEARS.

To really make a difference the President would have to be willing to both REDUCE GOVERNMENT and break from lobbyists and corporate control.

I voted him in to begin with because of what I believe he represented. I believe many of the HUGE events were beyond his control. The things that stand out to me are: 1) Many of his self appointed people were forced to leave their HIGH GOVERNMENT positions because of major violations BUT he always acted on their behalf 2) He enacted a law whereby his activites would be PERMANENTLY SEALED and no one would ever be able to uncover what really happened A judge overruled this 3) He could not attack Iraq because Nations throughout the world opposed it; so he bribed an insignifant country to get the GO LIGHT. 4) He took thousands of completely innocent people into prisons - without any charge or violation - and they had no rights; no legal representation and were majorly tortured. 5) What was supposed to be a "brief war" has no end in sight 6) He has gotten the USA in record high debt and done more to strain International Relationships that anyone in my lifetime.

So Norm, I think anyone else in the President's place would have faced some very difficult circumstances - but I can't see anyone else doing all these things PLUS letting the VP get richer and richer from a war.
That's easy for you to say, lots of accusations there but where's the proof? Just how would you have done it better. You know that the Pres has a hell of alot more info about the state of EVERYTHING than we do and most of it we will never learn about for years after the deeds are done. They don't call it the "Hardest Job in the World" for nothing! You think it's easy and you JUDGE based on your understanding of the situation, you are misinformed. Give me a break!!
But you mean well I'm sure,
And that's the truth not a Novel!!

IBut Steady, do you believe that their are puppetmasters for both sides of this coin?

Peace!

Steady,
but do try and be truthful most of all. You're a great guy Norm.

Oh, I don't share your opinion about our current President. He has had to deal with many very difficult problems during his time in office. I'm sure his critics could do better themselves.
