What America is all about.

I just thought I would share this with you today.

I got an e-mail from someone I have known from meeting her 25 years ago. I first met her when she was a German local national who took a job as a secretary on the Army base I was stationed at in 1983. She worked hard every day for the year and a half or so that I knew her there before I left the Army. She gave me good information on the local things happening in town, and I learned a great deal from her about German life, values, society, etc.

Anyway, until about two years ago, I never heard from her again- until one day we crossed paths electronically on the internet, and I discovered she had later married a G.I. and moved to America.

We have exchanged a couple of e-mails - not much- since that time. But today, I was most happy to get this e-mail from her:

Finally - done and over with…..
After one year paperwork pushing and waiting - I passed my American Citizenship Test today and will be invited to the OATH CEREMONY to the Court in Detroit in April.

Watch out - I am one of the----- NEW AMERICAN ….(^_^) SMILE !!!

Congratulations Monika, on becoming the newest United States of America Official Citizen.

It reminds me every day of how great a country we have, how wonderful a system of society we have, what a great nation we are, that of all the places in the world you could be- that you are here now, and have chosen to become...

An American.

Salute, Monika!

Congratulations.

And Welcome...
