A supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service pleaded guilty in federal court today to accepting bribes from a contractor that made millions of dollars repairing and maintaining mail delivery vehicles.
Denny Robinson, the vehicle maintenance supervisor at a USPS facility in Detroit, admitted that that between 2006 and 2010, he accepted more than $50,000 in cash, two free cars, and free service work and car parts from Metro Diesel. Metro Diesel, according to court records, was a Detroit contractor that received more than $13 million from the postal service for repairing and maintaining postal vehicles. Robinson, 36, of Brownstown Township, had the responsibility to decide whether work on postal vehicles would be performed by postal employees or sent out to private contractors.
Robinson faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
