Tom, your front page is taking a long time to load. Could it be that your traffic has gotten higher than your servers ability?

The reason I bring this up is that it has been taking me about 15 seconds to load your front page which is an eternity on the net these days. If I had never been to your site before I might not wait. The delay also occurs on your comments page but I'd expect to see that delay since I'd bet many people have that one bookmarked.

FYI.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I think the homepage delay could be related to the news feeds in the bottom left menu. Maybe I should chuck them. I'm on a PC that is flying right now and they come up right away, but my laptop takes forever to load it.

I wonder if that is it. I'm usually on a laptop. Not sure what the configuration difference is, but...

Just checked on my home desktop computer.... 18 seconds...

I'd limit the fancy stuff on the front page, just so new folks get on-board and read a little before turning away..

I was having some problems with Yahoo tonight. So the Yahoo links could be slowing it down. The barchart.com quotes could also be slowing it down.

I made some changes. Does it seem any faster? You may need to hit the refresh button when it comes up the first time to see the new changes.

Tom,
the other day it took 11 seconds to load, today it took 0.84 seconds on the same computer. You must have it in turbo mode. Welcome back and keep up the good work.

Yep, almost instantaneous front page loading. I used to get hung a lot, so I just typed in an extra 'mb' at the end of the address to go straight to the MB board, but not anymore! Thanks, Tom. :D

The Return Page has not shown up correctly since yesterday (html codes gone wild)? Or is it just my browser. :)

Thanks ebbnflow. I noticed that earlier. I must have corrupted the file somehow. I'll fix it this weekend.
