At age 59 1/2 or older you can make an in-service withdrawal. This can be transfered to an IRA. It can be a Roth IRA if you pay appropriate taxes at the time of the transfer.
The problem with Roth IRAs for those in higher income brackets are the income limitations.
Under the new Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act (TIPRA) it appears that a transfer could be made in 2010 without regard to income limitations (still paying the tax, of course).
Does anyone know if this is true? If so, where can I get more information about it?
