TSP Web 'Glitches'

I have heard of two people so far that have not had requested transfers take place. These 'non-transfers' should be reported to the TSP people immediately asthis is serious violation of their agreements to have their website operating properly. If you have documented evidence, i.e. an email or written confirmation of your transfer and it does not take place, it is your duty to report this to TSP.

If there is problems with the way TSP is handling transfers, they should shut the system down until that problem is identified and corrected. I don't feel comfortable using their system in light of the non-transfers.I want to be 100% sure that any request I make takes place.

Thoughts?

Someone else posted that the glitch affects only those who have social security numbers ending in 8 or 9. I can confirm that my transaction yesterday (effective today) went through, and my SSN does not end in 8 or 9.

By the way, my transfer was to 100% S, thanks in part to listening to both Tom and Mlk_man. Thanks to both for the good call!

I was told that some error at the TSP is responsible for people with last # 8 or 9 in their SSN will not have their transfer posted. Nothing went through if your social ended with an 8 or 9. What is that all about? Was referred to the frtib for further info.

If that is the case, I am glad my SSN does not end in 8 or 9, but I'd be unhappy if it did and I could not rely on transfers. I still think TSP needs to fix this glitch for all concerned.

Good luck in your investments.

Did they clear up the bad transfer or are they treating it like it never happened?

I was told that because of the large number of participants in the tsp, that each member is separated by SSN. In their database "we" are kept in folders with the last # of your SSN for your ID. 0-1, 2-3,4-5,6-7, and 8-9 are all in their own folder. The 8-9 folder was the problem but I was never told any specifics...i.e human error (I suspect) only that their was a problem with the processing of the 8-9 folder.

This is on the TSP web site:

The account balance information is current as of close of business, Wednesday, October 27, 2004 .

Special Notice: The Account Transactions section is not available at this time.

I had already viewed my Thursday transactions so I don't know what's the deal with this; I do know at 10:52am when we had 8 minutes before the deadline, we couldn't get through.
