Market action lived up to its seasonal expectations. All three TSP stock funds added more than 1% for the week rewarding those who bought in after the previous week's rally. This was the fourth consecutive week of gains for the C-fund, yet the C-fund is still outperformed for the month by the S-fund. The S-fund currently holds a gain of 10% for November with four trading days left for the month.
The S-fund's success has increased its popularity across the TSP Talk AutoTracker. The S-fund holds 31.6% of the allocations across the 670 non-premium members in the TSP Talk AutoTracker. This is up from 27.6% on November 15th.
The S-fund's success has enticed the top performers as well. The top four members in the 2023 TSP Talk AutoTracker standings all hold 100% S-fund and 65% of the top 10s' allocations are made up of the S-fund.
But is it too late to chase from here? Buyers have been coming in because they expect seasonality to take this market higher through the rest of the year, especially since there has been a spark of optimism that the Federal Reserve is finished raising rates and inflation is under control while avoiding a recession. However, the market has become technically over-extended and there may be some short-term profit-taking before the bulls' expectations can unfold.
