Similar to the first two weeks of August, the market bounced back after dipping the first week. Now the S&P 500 (C-fund) and DWCPF (S-fund) are within reach of their summer highs with a rate cut coming on Wednesday. Now investors face a highly anticipated rate cut one Wednesday, one that has toyed with the market for months.
Neither the C-fund nor S-fund took a loss in any single day return last week. They both accumulated gains of over 4% for the week with the S-fund’s 4.22% return leading the TSP funds. The C-fund outperformed the S-fund in the first three days of the week. The S-fund pushed through to the best return for the week with a 2.87% in the last two days of the week while the C-fund gained 1.31%.
The market reached an intraday low 30 minutes prior to the TSP trade deadline on Wednesday. From there, prices climbed without much fight from the bears.

Best Return of the Week
One member took advantage of this flip in momentum between the C and S-fund. Love-to-bike began the week in the C-fund then used an IFT on Tuesday to lean the majority of their allocation into the S-fund for the rest of the week. The move led to their 4.95% return for the week, the best among the TSP Talk AutoTracker, and lifted them into positive territory for the month.
