TSP Performance

I've been using the TSP Talk spreadsheet to track TSP performance since Jan. 1, 2005. After 16 transfers of asset mix (on average about50% in G Fund), myYTD TSP return is 4.34%. When compared to C Fund return and considering the risk I've incurred, I guess this should be considered satisfactory.

Wondering how everyone else is doing in percentage terms?

As of today, 6.76% YTD, 4 transactions...and I could have done without one of them (stoopid F Fund...hehe).

As of today, 3.17% YTD
Behind G by 0.1% and ahead of C-fund by 0.4%
I'm happy. Especially considering that I wasminus 4.0% YTD at the end of January this year.

Also, I've made 86 IFTs so far this year :shock:

Ed,

I'm going to put some numbers up for your consideration. I don't have the L fund numbers, however they incorporate the existing funds.

First, I wanted to find out how many members there were in TSP. I couldn't find a recent number, but I remember that it totals in the millions (civilians + military).

According to TSP as of December 31, 2004, the program had the following allocations:
Fund $
G = 58.8 billion
F = 10.1 b
C = 65.7 b
S = 10.0 b
I = 7.3 b

This is the same as a individual allocation of about: G=38, F=7, C=43,S=7, and I=5.

Note: that themajority of funds are in G and C.

I'll stop right here, and let you futher tinker with the numbers

Rgds :? Spaf
