I receive every single DoD casualty notification… and I have since our first KIA’s in October 2001.
In the past few days, I’ve noticed the following blurb at the bottom of all of the e-mails:
“GovDelivery, Inc. sending on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense · 380 Jackson Street, Suite 550 · St. Paul, MN 55101 · 1-800-439-1420 “
Does it seem totally callous that the DoD does not even see fit to announced their own dead? Or am I being too sensitive?
Our military has contracted out it's food. It's fuel. The delivery of it's ammunition.
All to the lowest (or highest, or the exclusive no-bidder).
And now- contracting out the delivery of the news of our dead.
