The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall

Such a sad war. It was my era. I didn't go there, stayed stateside and sometimes feel like crap for not going to Vietnam to serve. Read "Chicken hawk" twice. Things are so different today.

JimmyJoe, you are not alone having these feelings. Most SEA vets have forgiven us REMFs. We did what we did.

If you have not, do not pass up a chance to see the wall, fixed, travelling or interactive.

Part of the Tentative schedule:

Saturday – April 24
3:30 PM: Patience Mason, at the Wall Pavilion - Recovering From the War – PTSD

I took so many great rides in the Army Huey. Doors open, flying 150k/h just 50ft off the mat. Tried and true bird. I worked on Cobras. The Marines still use the 4 bladed Cobra, instead of the newer and expensive Apache.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is coming to Central Florida this Sunday - April 18

At 10am The Wall will be escorted its final 20 miles from Brevard Community College Cocoa to Wickham Park. Motorbikes, classic cars and officials will be its escort. People will be seated along the route and all routes other than that of the escort will be closed. Crowds of people will be at Wickham Park waiting to enthusiastically greet the procession.

The Wall has over 58,000 names of individuals that were killed or went missing in the Vietnam War. The Wall keeps their memories alive by providing a way to pay tribute to these fine individuals and lets them know they are not forgotten. Many take pen and paper to trace names. Touch it and it will touch you. It reconnects friends and for those who risked having their name there - it is not only a way of honoring the sacrifices made -it is a healing process.

More details can be found here: http://www.floridaveteransreunion.com/

Unable to visit – there is an interactive wall at http://go.footnote.com/thewall/
