The numbers Just don't add up.

 Please explain how to correctly track the TSP Funds. I see the numbers posted below, But when you look at what they are trading for compaired to what my TSP says my shares are worth somebody is a long way off.
Hello Sarge, Take a look on page 1 of the TSPTALK sit under utilities. There are a number of spreadsheets that you can use to track your shares by converting to dollars in your account or % earned or lost. You will need to input share prices from the TSP.gov site but it allows you to see how you're doing.

AGG and F-Fund track in terms of percent changes. (IF) You have F-Fund shares, so your price per share is what you paid when you bought it. The AGG is an aggregate bond fund, and is not part of the TSP, so the AGG price cannot be used.

Lets say the AGG fund is $100 a share, and F-Fund is $10 a share at the beginning of the day. If AGG ends the day 1% up, then the price per share is $101, which the price per share of the F-Fund would be around $10.10.

I have 52 Shares of MET and I know exactly what one share is worth, so I can track it to the penny. Why can't I do the same with TSP Funds? It looks bad to say I track F to AGG that is worth 108.63 to my 14.35.

I was trying to track the Funds on and when I set up the shares from TSP I get a total of $3,423,857.88 for all funds. Don't I wish that was true.

Hope this makes since to someone other than me.

Thanks for you input.

Bonds (F fund) AGG $108.63 VS $14.3588 </U>
EFA (I fund EFA $49.90 VS $16.8707
Dow Completion (S fund) ^DWCPF $522.51 VS $16.5291
S&P 500 (C fund) ^GSPC $1058.80 VS $12.6728
Where's (G Fund) ? $13.3841

Go to TSP official.gov and look under share prices.

It evens out over time, but on a daily scale you get fluctuations. It SEEKS to track the funds, but in actuality it is its own animal when you consider the operating cost.
