If we are looking for a get together mid Jine to July sometime and the airfare isn't to expensive I might make it. I should be retired by then. :D

I'd love to say lets do this, but I have two Weekends free between now and the end of September.....And the Air Force wants those.

Frixxxx,

You can see what I do when I take some time off work.:o

You can count me in on almost any date with just a little notice. I'll also help organize or set it up as well.

This is postponed until further notice.....I just got nailed with an IA inspection notice and will be in South Korea all of August. May have to look into March of Next year as when September hits, most everyone starts doing that holiday planning and I don't want to see anyone try to explain to their families about missing a halloween, homecoming, Thanksgiving, Hannakah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or any other celebration.

Will start looking for a date soon.

Hi Frixxxx (always have to look for the correct number of x's)

My summer has become booked between social obligations and work obligations. My 4/10s schedule has become mostly 5/10s for the future.

14 May, 9-20 Jun and 15 Jul thru 15 Aug are booked.

Not saying this revolves around me. Just letting you know. I could leave on a Friday after work and be in Beaumont by midnight. Drive back Sunday.

We will get this meeting working some time and some how.

I'll be on the mainland, LA/OC area, in October... would love to meet some TSP talkers. When is the meeting planned for?

Banning would have the Casino Morongo aspect, and that would be nice...I live 15 minutes away:nuts:

Vision:

A regional meeting place (any TSPtalk member can participate).

I think if we start with a place central to a high populous, we can talk business and have a little fun!

I have an itinerary for different meetings but want to see what everyone else wanted..

Items:
1. TSPTalk - Like/Dislikes for sending to Tom
2. TSP.gov - United voice of ideas/concerns
3. Other investment opportunities
4. Good Times!

I'll be looking at ideas from others as well! So please, state your case!

I'm hoping other regions will meet, and then we can nationalize our meetings later!

I live in the Los Angeles area and count me in... I will go ahead and subscribe to this link to stay up to date... Tnx...:cool:

I'll definitely be there since I live in Orange County. I work at Laguna Niguel, CA. This building has several agencies and my agency is largest with over 600 employees. I don't know how many are willing to attend this meeting from our small group of 46. I'm not aware anyone in my group created id on this site, but I don't think there is a problem for few of us to show up at the meeting.

PessOpt, I think St. George is a great idea for a Utah gathering, since that's where I live. Can't travel anymore but I could make a meeting in my same town! LOL

Depending on the number of people we're talking about, it could even be at my house.

Maggie

Frixxxxxxxxxxxxx........................

I'll be there with bells on.

That time of year smells like San Diego or Orange County. Kinda close to the ocean. I might be able to swing something at my base (MCRD San Diego). They have a very nice restaurant/club next to a little bay off the bay.

Then again, I got married on a paddle wheel boat on Mission Bay. It was less expensive than folks might think. But, free has a very very nice ring for an initial get together.

I think Viva La Migra is in the area as well. More downtown San Diego. Maybe Viva can find a site?

I think a regional meeting as proposed by Mr Frixxxx is a great start toward the national get together talked about off and on. If others would throw out the idea to their own regions, something could be started on a local level.

The idea of a national get together seems years off and a hard thing to bring about since their is no real plan, and it would be a huge task for anyone to bring together and make happen.

I think to start this thing going all of us from different parts of the country should try to get other TSPTalkers in our areas (relative term, in some places that means 300 miles, in others 30 miles) together for an informal meeting. We should try to get one of the meeters to make a report of the meeting. That report should be published on TSPT. Perhaps some member of TSPT will step up and offer to be the national report coordinator.

Maybe not. Just make a thread for TSPTalkers local meetings and post your minutes or what you think happened there. Photos should be reviewed for content before posting.

If the informal local meetings work and become regional then perhaps a national convention with scheduled speakers and a visit to FRTIB or who knows could happen.

I'm in Phoenix. I think there are others who participate on the MB from AZ. Anyone interested in getting together to BS about TSPT? I'm closer to Frixxxx than some of you are to me. UT people, how about it? SLC is a long drive but Kanab or St George might be doable. It all depends on response. Lost Wages, fahgetahbouhtit! If it's gotta be in that area, Boulder City.

Frixxx has a great idea about a TSP gathering. If the regional doesn't seem to be getting going, Frixxxx, lets get together in Beaumont or Banning. We can bs about the AF from 72 to now and how it's falling apart since I retired. We can talk about how bad my annual rate of return is. We can talk about who's fault it is. We can do anything we want if no one else shows up. We just need someone to take minutes and let us edit them before submission to the TSP thread.

Others can do the same, two TSPTalkers in the same area get together, post on the forum, soon more get together etc.

Frixxxx,
I think it's a Great Idea -- don't know if I'd be able to make it all the way to CA -- but the thought of tons of us getting together for real would be wonderful.
Thanks Steady

My concerns with 'dislikes to Tom' - is that kind of s*** makes me mad enough hearing it 'here on this site'. All it takes is just one idiot to spoil it for everyone else.

So could we limit it to 'Likes' -- I mean if we're honestly going to get together then let's keep it POSITIVE and just be real.
I'm not looking to slam the site, but a venue of constructive change (maybe dislike was not a great term)
But...you know...format, color, creative suggestion thread! Most of the time people only have a chance at a glance on the information, but little chance to comment/focus on the presentation.

Tom runs a great site, I would make sure the respect was given him! :D

I certainly appreciate 'the Business angle' - but if we're going to make a trip like that and really get together -- I would make it more a Social Event.

Recognize Tom and past (present) Mods.
Recognize previous Top winners and stuff.
Maybe see if any 'magical relationships' evolved from this Site.

Frixxxx, you're a champ, i was all in favor of the branson idea last year, could have visited family too, but soCal? you'l have to count me out on that one. bet you get a bunch of takers tho.

I like the Branson idea. Half way between Texas and Wisconsin...........:D

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin would be nicer. Beautiful area! And Frixxxx, only about an hour from Chicago and the CME....................;)
