Hi, I was wondering if you could buy a Short ETF such as SH or SDS with a cash account through an online brokerage? Or do you need a margin account to do so? The chat guy from firstrade claimed you needed a margin account but perhaps he didn't understand that the ETF was a Short ETF, idk he took forever to reply and forever to get to me while I waited in the chat window. I also did a brief google search with no answer. Hope someone can help!
