Shockwave Therapy (Feet)

Awesome! Similar physiological reaction to what I experienced with a non-surgical solution to torn elbow tendon last year. There they restarted the healing reaction by injecting the attachment point with saline solution and platelets spun down from my own blood draw. Reaction required Vicodin for a couple days. He told me I'd need the Vicodin, I didn't believe him til I did. The elbow was stuck in non-healing pattern for nearly 3 years even with every conventional non-surgical therapy under the sun. Surgeon told me surgery in his experience was 100% failure, so he recommended this alternative med therapy. It has made all the difference in the world. Now I can pick up more than 20# w/o risking reinjury-setback. Hallelujah! Delighted there was something more out there for you as well.

 I've worn custom orthotics over 20 years now to deal with mine (among other related foot probs). Shockwave therapy? what's that and how's it affect the plantar fascia?

I had the orthotics, along with cortizone shots. They didn't do any good.

Shockwave therapy is supposed to stimulate and promote healing because the tissue is so far beyond damage that it cannot heal itself. The procedure itself does not take long. Only about 4 minutes per foot. But they do put you under because of the pain and vibrations. My feet are still numb because of the shots given prior to the therapy. So, I'm not feeling much pain. The doc said it should remain tender for a couple weeks. If all goes well, I should be back to physical activity (running) in no time at all. I'm still active duty, so my treatment was free. If not, it's a few thousand $$$. But it's a better alternative than surgery itself where they cut. Here's a few links to help you understand it:

I just returned from hospital. The doc put me under and conducted shockwave therapy on both feet due to chronic plantar faschiitis. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this done before? If so, how did it go?

God bless:)
