"The idea that they're somehow a protection or a hedge, I don't think that's going to be borne out over time," Sen. Elizabeth Warren told CNBC on Wednesday.

Many crypto bulls see bitcoin as a durable, long-term store of value that can counteract what they feel is irresponsible government spending.

About as short minded a theory as those who think the dollar is going to zero because of fed printing.

How about people bought it because it went up? Volume was a lot higher when bitcoin was at $50,000+.
