Some wide range of year-end S&P targets from the big boys. Who's right?

Currently: ~1690 (7/30)

Targets

JP Morgan: 1775

JPM @1775, just because they are "in the know" but I don't know if they planned on their sugar daddy leaving... maybe not...

My crystal ball says we have a mini correction of 5% or so through October, then start climbing back higher for our final push (Wave 5) to the top next year.

Dec 31, 2013 we'll be ~ 1665.

Bump.

Tom - Can we get this going now that the Santa Rally is kicking off?

1840.

Good question. If there's going to be a dump, it will probably happen in January - but that's a big "IF". The January barometer will be important - the first few days in January tends to tell the story for the month and the year.

It's a little late for that, but we'll get the 2014 Guess the Dow contest going next week.

Here's the 2013 guesses... http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/site-news-announcements/14590-2013-guess-dow-contest.html

And from Frixxxx, in November: Frixxxx

Re: 2013 Guess the Dow Contest

I have put the spreadsheet together for this....

Since it was closed in January, this will just be a status of where we are at....

Good luck to the last three reamining in the hunt (bar any catastrophical market condition!)
DJIA Guess 2013.xlsx

Just drop the DJ value in I1 to adjust the standings, although it should be quite clear where you're at now...

And NOW, with the DOW hovering around 16,300 it looks like NiteFlyer is in the catbird seat!! And that 'outrageous' prediction by Birchtree of 17,000??? He is in 2nd place, with a bullet! WOW!!

Outrageous indeed - sometimes you have to swing big when it seems outrageous to be doing so. I have 41/2 trading days to get to Dow 17,000 - perhaps Santa will provide incentive.

Look at all the fear in those guesses......I thought I was optimistic with mine 12%. Not optimistic enough though!

Re: Dow/S&P 500 Year-End Targets 2013

Couple of big races going on at TspTalk...year end Dow between NiteFlyer and Birchtree. And top year returns between JMoody and remark and the 16 accounts that followed the S fund all year!!
