I will not enter you in the weekly tracker with the fund allocations you entered in your account. The Weekly Tracker can only track only allocations made to the basic G/F/C/S/I funds. You will have to calculate and provide the percentage breackdown allocated to each basic fund (G/F/C/S/I). My volunteer work for the Weekly Tracker only goes so far.

Other members will likey provide you feedback on how figure the proper TSP fund allocations for your age and risk tolerance. I can tell you than placing some money in every Lifecycle fund makes you a "RunningFool".

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

You are way too thin - which means you will never retire. Suggest you think about consolidating your position and begin a DCA program into two funds of your choice. Even though you did not ask for my opinion, I like for DCA 75%C and 25%I fund. Keep running - join me in front of the train.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

DCA is the redeemer of mistakes. It stands for dollar cost averaging and you allocate funds according to how you want to accumulate shares. My goal is to accumulate 40,000 shares of the C fund - so all my allotments are going 100% into the stinky unloved and hardly ever appreciated C fund. You may ask why do that and it comes down to 5 letters: value.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

Go with TSP talks long term plan for now. You can choose you own risk level, however I would recommend aggressive.

Risk Tolerance G Fund F Fund C Fund S Fund I Fund
Aggressive 0% 0% 35% 35% 30%
Moderate 10% 10% 35% 25% 20%
Conservative 20% 20% 40% 10% 1 0%

As you learn you can make changes, but honestly you can go wrong with this. Well you can go wrong and thats not being aggressice enough if you are young! Hope this helps.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

Good choice - you will move ahead faster. Perhaps you'll be able to demonstrate some of the characteristics that are common to runners as applicable to investing. I'm thinking about mental discipline, endurance of pain until the second wind, then you know the duration is doable. Plan your strategy and you'll succeed in investing.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

Looks like the Top Dogs (above 12%) are invested like this on average:

G 52% F 0% C 14% S 15% I 19%

Seems like going straight C 12.03%
I 19.44%
L2040 12.37%

Could work about as well????:suspicious:

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

I entered your fund allocations in the Weekly Tracker COB 11-2 with the allocation 25% F, 25% C, 25% S, and 25% I funds. Your IFT for 11-07 COB will be the second transaction. You are in the Weekly Tracker. Your return performance appears in the Weekly Tracker, starting with the 11-03-2006 edition.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

Seems the I is showing a little weakness:confused: , maybe the I is falling:nuts: whatever, going 50% C 50% S by COB 11-22.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

Seems alot of the smart money is going G and F. Guess I will stay in front of the train until the green, purple and blue sqiggally lines cross the dotted line and the green dots turn red. Hows that for technical analysis?
Moving 50% S 50% I fund by noon 12/1/06.

Re: RunningFool Account Talk

I want to know how much pain you can endure before you get your second wind - or is that overly personal.

I try to avoid pain as much as possible, as pain usually indicates something is about to break. At my age I would rather go a little slower than recover from an injury. Sometimes I will get caught up in trying to beat a time or someone else and push a little too hard, but mostly I just try to enjoy being able to run and finish the race.:)
