Remember when....

This is a compilation of commercials. Superman selling Sugar Smacks. Stuff like Bosco that I never hear about anymore. Mike Wallace selling Fluffo shortening. Decoder rings. Ovaltine would "make you the leader of your gang"! The first Tang commercials showing you that the astronauts use it.

But the thing I noticed the most is that the world has really changed in the last half century! Dennis James peddles Old Gold cigarettes as being good for you while the Old Gold package tap dances on long feminine legs - - accompanied by tap dancing matches with underage legs!

Where can I get me some of that soap???

Here are some of the commercial jingles that I remember watching on our family's first television. Can you imagine today's world accepting the Frito Bandito commercials? Do any of the jingles get stuck in your head?

Ethal Merman blaring out the Texaco jingle. "What walks the stairs without a care...?" "Winston tastes good like a [clap, clap] cigarette should." "...so make a date today to see the USA and see it in your Chevrolet."

And practically every Halo shampoo commercial every made.
