Balloon is now climbing through 67,000 feet, enroute to the new world record for highest manned balloon flight, and highest parachute jump.

Good luck Felix Baumgartner in your attempt to set a new record.

Also on youtube:

has anybody calculated how big the meat circle will be if he fails? skydiving is foolish, i know, i've let go of a perfectly good cessna at 3000 feet hoping the static line would perform. sure it's one hell of an other worldly floating view after the brain recovers from the initial disorientation, but at what potential cost? does he have kids? do you know many red bulls a snap card could buy with that kind of bank?

New world records for altitude, and speed Broke the sound barrier. Good job Felix!

Hmmm...how fast did they say he went? The speed of sound is 768 mph in air at standard temp of 20 degrees Celsius.

So the speed of sound decreases as temperature decreases.

Also, if a skydiver breaks the sound barrier at 100,000 feet, does he make a sound?!? :cheesy:

Just some thoughts I came away with watching the astonishing feat!!! :D
