The pound sterling rose by as much as 0.7 per cent following a report that Theresa May had struck an agreement for British financial services companies to have continued access to European markets after Brexit. The Times reported that British and European negotiators had reached a*“tentative agreement*on all aspects of a future partnership on services”, which included exchange of data, the newspaper said, citing government sources.
