What do you mean they were downgraded? How can Spain possibly have economic woes, when they have all those green jobs and a Cap and Trade system? Don't tell me Cap and Trade is causing economic hardship in Spain!

Cap and trade is the least of their problems.
If you want to punk their green policy, try their failed version of PV (solar) incentives. No one else in the EU or the rest of world did it like Spain! They went from not even top 10 in 2007 to 2nd largest market in the world in 2008 due to crazy incentives, to not even on the map when they had to pull the incentives away due to too much solar literally showing up on their doorstep!
And it's not just their green policies that have put them in the subbasement.

Oooh Silverbird ~~ they are little different from 'us' in that regard. We have also done some pretty crazy things. In fact way back when you were still in diapers we were offering very 'crazy incentives' for millions of people to buy houses way beyond their means and they didn't need any downpayment -- a job -- credit or anything.

That's because the bull rahm (and pardon me for saying this to a lady) can never pan out. It's a fact of life -- dear one -- and maybe in the short run it will look worthwhile but things like that never last.
In fact -- that's the main reason why we do need more woman calling the shots because they see the details and LONG TERM way better.
