Pages load very slow.

I have notice both at home and (don't tell) at work that the pages on the new MB format load very slow. Seems to be getting worse. Is anyone else experiencing this?

ex....ceee.......dingly sllloooow. However, I am glad to know it isn't just me & my computer!

I have noticed the same thing on three different computers. However, other websites (eg: tsp.gov) load fast as usual.

Could be a number of things, but sounds like our webhosting since several people are experiencing the same problem.

As I write this it seems to be OK so please keep me posted of any slowdowns. Sending me an email may be the quickest way to get it looked at since I don't always get a chance to view the board.

Thanks,
Tom

I noticed today, 3-8-06 @1145ET, that the pages were loading slow again. Sometimes I got the message "This page cannot be displayed". Was anyone else having these problems?

I had same problem today from 11:45 am to near the 12:00 pm dealine. I was a little late posting my IFT move because of it. Perhaps it'ss just the traffic because the site has become so popular!

All seems well now but I will report this to our support folks. We recently moved to a dedicated server so I don't think performance should be an issue any more, unless it was caused by something in the local area of the webhosting company. We barley touch the maximum capabities of our resources now so we should be flying.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Tom

After a couple of problem tickets to our support folks, it turns out that while the site was moved to a dedicated server to help performance issues, it turns out that everything was moved except the databases. That means the message board.

So they tell me that they are on the job now moving the database so if you experience any downtime in the next day or so, you'll know why.

Thanks,
Tom

FYI - From our webhosting company:

"There are lingering issues causing slowness that is still being investigated. You will be notified further with any information found."

Now I am being told that the new server does not have sufficient memory and I will need to upgrade. Sheesh! I upgraded to a dedicated server to increase performance and it slows us down. Mo' money, mo' money.

Is this akin to `Switch & Bait?' ????

Not really. It's kind of my fault. We needed a dedicated server for the credit card processing and since this site isn't very large compared to others, I took the cheapest one. Even with the upgrade I'm paying about 1/2 of a what a top of line server costs, which would be overkill, but this new upgrade is costing me about 8x what I used to pay per month.
