Nuclear Power - Not viable in it's current state

Trucking everything to Nevada was a silly, and unsafe idea, especially with most of the plants on the East Coast. And supposedly we have more waste than can fit in the facility. What is needed is a viable option, not what we have now. Nuclear is fine IF we have a logical policy for handling the waste! So far, we don't have one. If we get one, great, but until then, we aren't serious about Nuclear.

The five decades old Price-Anderson Act sets a cap on liability by power plants and their insurers for damages arising from nuclear accidents. After $300 million in damages are paid by insurance, the US taxpayer takes over to address catastrophic liabilities, including cleanups, property damage, health care, and lives lost.

Though I agree with this guy's detractors that Bhopal is a bad example to use - nothing to do with nuclear, everything to do with sloppy chemical regulations and enforcement, and India's approach to nuclear isn't something stellar to behold either.
