I remembered from my Federal Retirement Seminar about having your Social Security Benefits trimmed if your Pension/TSP annuity payments (and any other income) are above a certain criteria.
What I did NOT realize, is that this is only for Gov't Employees. Private sector workers can earn all the retirement benefits they want, but still recieve full Social Security benefits.

Not a political endorsement...but just a proposal from a candidate who wants to fix this.
